So out of curiosity just nice to hear how people think their labour may have started!? I know we don't know if these things really work but you just never know what works!

40 weeks tomorrow sweep booked in for the morning bit hoping on an outcome as never worked on my first except releasing my plug at 38.5 weeks, luckily my plug has slowly come away so we shall see how the next 6 days pan out before she is encouraged to vacate the womb! Haha

Hiya, my labour story is mainly straight forward. I was 40+2 and In the morning around 9 I started getting light contractions. Then by about 5 the contractions changed and they hurt alot. So I jumped in a taxi to the hospital and it was so painful to sit down. Once I got to the hospital she checked how far dilated I was and I was fully dilated. As I wanted a water birth they ran bath and I was relaxing in there which helped so much with pain it relaxes you so much. Then my waters broke and they cna see that my little girl had pooed inside me which could be dangerous so I had to then get out the pool and give birth on the bed . I only had gas and air. Its all about the breathing technique and zoning yourself out. You'll do amazing every mother does! X

1st baby I was 38+1 got a stitch like pain in the afternoon which didn't go but was told labour pains came and went so didn't associate it with labour.. Decided I wanted to go for a walk later on that day to my sisters... Around half 7 realised I was in labour as I had started getting period type cramps had baby at 2:08am early hours.

2nd baby had a sweep I think around 38/39 weeks didn't do much. Had pains on and off from probally around 37 weeks untill 1 day past due date. Woke up feeling absolutely fine pains had gone so gave up wishing it would happen. Bang on 5:30pm that day labour hit me like a tonne of bricks had him at 10:30pm.

With both I never noticed my plug and my waters didn't break untill I was about to give birth x

I started with a small waters leak - I thought maybe I had wet myself. Then over the next two hours I went from "is that a contraction" to quite confident I was in labour and having fairly intense contractions.

Wore high heeled boots and went to Wetherspoons for an evening out at 39 weeks. Lots of lemonade so lots of walking upstairs to the toilets, then walked to the bus stop. Struggled to sleep that night with lots of achy pains in my pelvis and though I had finally overdone it and developed SPD. In hindsight I think it was latent phase. Waters broke spontaneously at 2pm the next day and contractions started about an hour later. Got to hospital at 9pm and was 5cm dilated.

Labour started with one huge contraction and they were every 2 minutes from the offset. Hospital kept telling me to stay at home - I eventually panicked and went anyway and I was 9cm dilated Smile Baby was born 4 hours after the first contraction

Did you guys have any warning signs the days before that labour might start?
I'm feeling so desperate and impatient to have this baby! I'm 38+2 and i don't want to wait any longer! But i don't seem to have any signs. 2 weeks ago head was 2/5 palpable. Hoping by Monday the midwife will say she's even more engaged.

Had no pains really. Maybe some aches but i think more top do with muscle pain at front of belly as she is really pulling when I'm moving around in n bed.

It's madness how it's all happened for most of you, so unexpected not like we actually know when we are going into labour as that would be good!

Hoping my cervix is playing fair tomorrow with the aches and cramping and sharp pains I've had since 37 weeks but knowing my luck it will be my PGP/ SPD! Just causing the pain who knows on and off tightenings even in the back, including lower back ache as she is meant to be sunny side up position and my son was too funny enough so I remember labouring all around there! The joys!

It's just the whole waiting game, but it's nice to also know that Friday is the actual day I will be having something done if she's not turned up before, maybe the girl needs coaxing out haha! Lazy babies!
