Hi guys. im pregnant with baby no1 due may 2020. I just thought i would look at a employers SMP calculator to see if i am eligable for SMP. Because i have been so ill with HG in pregnancy and hospitalised twice i now dont qualify for SMP. £117.93 average earnings (needs to be £118). This makes me really nervous. How easy is it to claim MA? I have worked same company since April 2017. Looking at the MA & my test period i can submit 4 wage slips (im paid monthly). wage slips i could submit are £619, £555, £524 and £524. Will the government think this is odd since these are above £118 per week yet i cant get SMP so will refuse the claim? im just very nervous of not getting a penny.

It's really easy to claim MA. Make sure you put your claim in as soon as you hit 26 weeks though as they're taking ages to process atm and no sign of it improving.
