Christmas gifts for Mum not Baby!

Hi all

Looking for some inspiration! I'm due to be induced before Christmas which I'm super excited about.

Lots of folk are wanting to get organised and asking what I want for Christmas and bday (my bday is Christmas Eve!). However, most ideas being thrown at me are baby related. Examples being personalised blanket for baby, nightwear to help me breastfeed, close caboo sling etc

Whilst I am extremely grateful that anyone is thinking of getting me anything considering all focus will (rightly) be on the new baby, I'm struggling with feeling a little selfish for wanting somethings for me.

So, throwing it out there to other mums. What gift would be super indulgent, just for you but very much appreciated post birth? Or what is on your Christmas list for you?

Am shamelessly plugging for ideas!

Someone gave me a Lush Twilight body spray and bath bomb which was lovely - the first bath I had was a real treat! An expensive body lotion or nice bottle of perfume maybe?

Nice pyjamas/breastfeeding clothes do make you feel better about yourself if feeding - I spent so much time in tracksuit bottoms and nursing vests that it was a nice treat to be able to dress up! Soft fluffy socks/slippers/dressing gown all good when getting up on winter nights to feed.

I like reading so Kindle books were great for night feeds as I could read one handed and didn’t have to put the light on. DVD box sets/Netflix subscription for the hours spent on the sofa cluster feeding at the start.

Where I live there's a lady who does Indian baby massage and also postnatal (for mum) massage. We had her come in for the baby massage which was really good but I didn't do the mum massage and regret it! (We never asked her again, which was just a schedule thing). Maybe a postnatal massage or the like? Ideally of course someone who comes to your house!

My dd is 5 weeks old. Things I've liked or would like: Postnatal massage or pedicure, definitely. Books also, I've read loads since dd was born. Hand cream. Food, I'm constantly starving. Other than that, I dont have a great deal on my list. I've asked people not to buy me smellies, I have loads and I'm avoiding strong fragrances because I'm breastfeeding and I dont want to overwhelm dd. I'm putting off buying new clothes until I lose some more weight. I'm not really wearing makeup. There will be plenty of wine and chocolate in the house. My SIL asked what I wanted for Christmas and I've asked her for a voucher for a dinner out with DH (her brother) and a promise to babysit, some time in the coming year. That to me will be much nicer than anything she might find in the shops.

I'm only due 26th january but I've asked for a new nightie and pj's some new socks (me thinking ahead to once I've had baby) and underwear (post baby underwear not granny ones lol) pretty much it I just want to be comfortable and cannot even imaging getting anything else as I cba doing my make up and I cba really doing much with my hair or even going anywhere so all that would be pointless gifts for me.

But just ask for whatever it is you want. X
