I had this whole idea that pregnancy would bring beautifully silky thick shiny hair, amazing skin etc
etc... instead my hair looked thinner... I'm 9+5 and it's greasier quicker, and looks flat as a pancake. There's no shine to it and it's defo not gotten thicker. My face which was usually clear is now spotty. Am I too early to show those benefits yet or am I unlucky. I am tempted to get hair extensions put back in because I am feeling awful at the moment

9 weeks is early and your hormones will be everywhere at the minute I was the same early pregnancy probally up untill 20 weeks or so I broke out so bad my hair gets greesy really quickly (no energy to even wash it half the time either) but yeah I always think this pregnancy glow people talk about is rubbish I've never had it and having dc3. Some people are lucky I suppose x

I'm the same, 11+0 and no sign of the 'glow'. My skin broke out early on but is clearing up now. A friend of mine was the same until she reached 23 weeks and from then on she looked great! I think we just need to get past the first trimester and let our hormones settle down a bit x

Spots are normal in early pregnancy, but should clear up. I don't know why... I guess hormones.

And my hair is about the same as it ever was although i think it was crappier early in pregnancy.

The while glow thing? I don't believe it. But being pregnant... You're carrying your baby, the feeling she's make you glow from inside!

I don’t know any woman who ‘glows’ in early pregnancy. In fact, I have often guessed a woman is in the early stages of pregnancy (in my head, not out loud!) because they look drawn and tired and have a peaky look around the eyes.

Don’t worry! You’ll glow later on Grin

I just look like a whale when I am pregnant.
Just the way it is.

It's normal! I've had spots the whole time and my skin is usually perfectly clear. Now in second tri the skin is finally "glowing" but I still have one or two spots that never seem to go away! I also feel insanely jealous of all these "pregnant" models you see everywhere. You know, the ones that are all spindly legs and bump. Hair is also blah and roots grow fast! Get the extensions, get some nice highlights, do what you need to do to keep your sanity and know that you aren't alone!

I am 10+4. My skin got a lot worse straight away (it wasn’t perfect anyway) but this was actually one of my first symptoms without me realising. It still hasn’t cleared up very much really..I look pale and ill as well and seem to pick up colds more easily. Definitely not glowing!

Sorry if I'm bursting anyone's bubble but I'm 38w pregnant and haven't seen a G of the famous glow in this entire pregnancy. The closest I came was shiny, greasy skin and hair over summer in the second trimester. At this point - I look more like Jabba the Hutt than an actual human being but I self-soothe by reminding myself that its an exhausting work - creating an entire new human being and things will go back to normal once she's here.
