Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any good remedy for insomnia? For over a week now I have not been sleeping at nights and I can only get about 2-3 hours during the day. Any advice?

I probably don't have it as bad as you but when I can't sleep at night I go down and 'watch tv' this usually tricks me into drifting off. If you have already tried that maybe go to gp?

I suffered with insomnia from weeks 6-9 and it was mentally draining! The doctor won't do anything as you can't take anything to help you sleep. I tried not napping during the day in the hope it would help me sleep at night but it didn't. I cut out caffeine all together, that didn't help either. The only thing that worked for me was sleeping on the sofa. I found it easier to drift off when I was watching TV (same a PP) x

I’m struggling with this too - really struggle to get comfortable at night so I’m tossing and turning for hours. I’ve banished myself to the guest room so DH gets some rest!

I’m also waking up at 2am every night with tummy cramps - I think it’s trapped wind Blush

I’m going to try some peppermint tea and yoga before bed tonight - should help with wind and aches and pains! I’ve been listening to podcasts to help quieten my brain down

I find the sleep stories on the Calm app useful. I've been listening to them for the last six months. Twice I haven't dropped off during the allotted time, once because it was too damn interesting! (it was about cricket, of all things!). The other night I did wake up when the story ended, but at least I got some sleep.

I was having this a couple of weeks ago... Then I discovered 'This Works - pillow spray'.... love it!! Have gotten off to sleep straight away ever since x

Well, I think I now know why I have been suffering from insomnia. I caught a cold and my nose was all bunged up inside until I began to take sterimar nasal sprays. Last night I managed to snatch 3-4 hours of sleep max and I'm hoping to take a nice nap in a bit. Let's see how tonight goes. Anyone else suffering from cold?
