Thrush - pregnancy safe treatment

Sorry if this is tmi or answered somewhere else on a thread that I couldn't find. I'll phone doctor / midwife tomorrow but thought I'd ask here tonight in case anyone knew

I don't usually suffer from thrush but the last few days I've noticed a slight increase in discharge that's white and stronger smelling and then today I have had a bit of an irritation / itch. I have had thrush years ago but this is how I remember it to feel from memory

My midwife suggested that I buy some sort of cream if I were to get thrush during my pregnancy but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called! Does anyone know any pregnancy safe thrush creams that I can buy over the counter ?

Yes it’s an anti fungal cream for thrush specifically and you can buy over the counter

Yeah, I know there are creams but I was just wondering if it was a certain one (Make?) in particular they was pregnancy friendly as my midwife mentioned a certain kind, not just any type of cream

I was prescribed canesten this week for thrush and I am 28 weeks. You cant take the tablets when pregnant. I got the combi pack of an external cream and an internal pessary.

Thanks @AprilFernLouise that's perfect - are you allowed to use the cream and internal pessary I'm guessing?

I had what felt like continuous thrush when I was pregnant. I was always prescribed a pessary and my midwife told me it was fine to use applicator

Yep fine to use that as that's what was prescribed. They told me that no pharmacist would sell it to me being pregnant but you can buy it straight off the shelf in my asda! I think its just because they like to be sure its thrush before giving you anything but mine prescribed it the same day before my swab was analysed or thrush was confirmed! It didn't do me any harm even if it wasn't thrush.
