25 weeks pregnant. 7 weeks on Sertraline. Any success stories? Ante-natal depression and anxiety.

Hello

I am on 100mg of sertraline and have been for almost 6 months so drs thought it best that I stay on the medication. I am almost 8 weeks pregnant and struggling with my mood and feeling low in general (I can only assume this is due to hormone) so cannot imagine what I would feel like without my medication. How are you feeling?

100% down to hormones, it hit me like a train. I am probably slightly better than I was when I started but its been very high and low. Extremely anxious, feel dread, intrusive thoughts and just low and not looking forward to anything. How long did it take for sertraline to help you at the beginning? If you are feeling terrible, I would ask your GP to up dose, mine is willing to go to 200mg.

@firsttimemum032020 It took me around 1-2 months until I felt better. I had taken sertraline in the past so knew what to expect. I also had counselling too this time around which was amazinggggg! I think me feeling super low is also partly to do with me not working at the moment. I work as cabin crew and have grounded until they find me a suitable office position so I am home alone during the day with no routine. Hopefully will be back to some kind of routine in the next few weeks. How are you finding sertraline? I found the side effects at the beginning quite difficult but they ease pretty soon x

Thank you. I also go to counselling once a week and it’s been brilliant. Really helps just doesn’t take it away! Ah yes not working won’t help, I’ve been the same as my job is quite stressful, Its horrible being in your head all day! the first week or two on each increase were pretty rough but physically side effects are okay. I’m on week 7 nearly and just hoping for it to start kicking in but only week 3 on 100. Was it slow progress for you? Have you spoken to GP about increase. If I would give any advice it’s to catch it early, I left mine for too long x
