PUPPPS RASH :-(

Hello everyone.
I am literally at my wits end and I just don't know what to do anymore. I am 38 weeks pregnant and from about 36 weeks I have developed the dreaded puppps rash. It started on my belly and has gradually spread to my hips, back, thighs, legs, arms and even my groin and bum! I haven't had a decent nights sleep in about two weeks and spend the whole day googling what to do. It's seriously put me on such a downer and ruined the pregnancy experience for me. I have been waking up at 2, 4 and 7:30 every morning to soak in the bath but even that is temporary. I will ask my midwife if I can be induced early as The thought of another two weeks is causing me serious anxiety. Just wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same or if any knows any magical cures? I've tried the following
-grandpa pine tar soap

  • v8 juice
  • oilatum cream
  • mild steroid cream (prescribed by docs)
  • double vase (prescribed by docs)
  • piriton ( half a tablet as I don't like the risks associated)
  • e45 itch cream
  • oatmeal baths
  • sea salt baths
  • Epsom salt baths
  • olive oil
  • baby oil

Thank you all xxx

I'm afraid I don't have any solutions to offer but had to say I feel your pain. I had it with my twin boys and it was one of the worst things I've experienced. I tried everything and nothing relieved it. The good news is it did go when they were delivered so hope that helps. I have heard of people being induced early because of it but that's a big decision to make. Equally though don't be dismissed by your midwife. I think it's one of those conditions unless you've experienced it you can't appreciate how bad it feels.

I had this start when I was 34 weeks pregnant with my twins. It was awful. I was ready to beg for a c section but I knew it would have been too early anyway. I remember the insane itching well.

The only thing that brought relief for me was to place ice packs over the itching. That would numb the skin for temporary relief and if I had started scratching i could stop it.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. It went away as soon as my twins were born.

Hello! So sorry to hear what you are going through, it sounds awful and it's so sad that it's ruining your pregnancy experience. I have not suffered from this type of rash, but was told recently about the wonders of nettle soap... I think you can pick this up from specialist/artisan soap makers (I bought some for a family friend at a recent Christmas fair. It is meant to be great for skin conditions like psoriasis and rashes!

Baking soda baths
Sudacream

Sounds horrible, I hope it gets better!
