Spotting at 9 weeks

I started out last week with a small bit of brown discharge. I called my midwife and she said not to worry too much and watch out for it. A couple of days later the discharge had turned more pinky/ red so I had really started to worry. The midwife booked me in for a scan and at 9 weeks we saw our little baby with a healthy little heartbeat Smile

It’s been 4 days since then and this evening when I went to the toilet and wiped I saw some quite reddish blood. Sorry for TMI but I had had sex a couple of hours before. I don’t know if this is likely to cause the bleeding or if I should be worrying ?

I was so happy to have seen the heartbeat and thought this would relieve some stress. But now I feel more panicked as the blood wasn’t as red before Sad. My 12 week scan isn’t for nearly 3 weeks and I’m just so worried this is a bad sign.

Any help would be great.

I had terrible spotting around 9 weeks - it’s really scary! In my case everything was fine and I’m now 32+5. I’ll cross my fingers everything goes just as well for you.

I had brownish spotting from 11+5 to 13+5, had 2 scans and a cervix exam. They couldn't see where it was coming from and made me just wait it out. I'm now 22 weeks and my husband felt the baby kick for the first time todaySmile

Early pregnancy I had bright red bleeding after sex (didn't actually know I was pregnant at the time) I'm now 31 weeks so it was fine for me too but if your worried contact your midwife again x

Sex can make you bleed- my mw says the cervix is really vascular when you’re pregnant. Keep calling the midwife if you need to, they won’t mind. Good news if you had a scan and all was well. Fingers crossed!
