20 week scan shock

We've just had our 20 week scan.

Baby wasn't playing ball and wouldn't let her see a lot, but she did say she thought she could see that the leg was shorter and also the foot was at an odd angle.

She also said that she's thinks the heart is ok, but would like that checked again too.

Has this happened to anyone else and what was the outcome?

Am I being ridiculous that I just want to curl up in a ball and ignore everyone?

With my first. She was born with tallipies in her left foot. Some casting and a very small op. It's mostly resolved, size and half difference in shoes. Still does loads of sports at 7 now.

But like you said baby wasn't playing ball. You'll get called for another scan.

Hiya I am not sure if it is a similar thing but at the 20 week scan we were told that our daughter has 1 leg significantly smaller than the other (think it was just under 1cm difference at 20 weeks) and i was absolutely devestated - I think i cried for about a month straight as everything was so confusing and worrying. We had countless other scans and she was born at 35 weeks (due to growth restriction so unrelated)

She does has a condition called PFFD (if you google the first images show quite severe examples of pffd) she is 4 now and doing amazing - her mobility is very good (we were told at 20 weeks that walking would be a difficult) and she keeps up with her friends at school

I will PM you the name of our blog on facebook

Thank you ladies for the reply. I've spent the day crying. Luckily the bigger hospital has availability on Thursday for another scan... it's just such a shock and I feel like my heart is breaking as I don't have any definite answers.

Thanks for the link I'll check my PMs. Xx

Awwww sorry to hear this @ser91 good luck for Thursday, let's hope it's something relatively uncomplicated like talipes.

Glad you have a scan booked for Thursday. It's not easy to see what is going when baby won't play ball (or even if they behave). Hope things go OK on Thursday for you.

Glad to hear you have got a specialist appointment on Thursday. This sort of unexpected news is so hard to deal with.
