Morning Sickness Moan

mummyduckduck · 26/11/2019 08:37

Just here for a moan really as most of my friends & family don't know I'm pregnant yet so I can't moan to them. Feel free to join in with your own moans so we can keep each other company....

Getting fed up of morning sickness now. I'm just over 10 weeks, it has been mainly nausea but done vomiting as well. I've lost almost a stone so far and have no appetite. Can't eat or drink anything except little sips of water before noon or I throw up.

Just been sick while driving to work, couldn't pull over anywhere either 😢. Managed to get home and get myself cleaned up, clothes in the wash, but I've still got the fun task of cleaning the car before I go to work (late again!).

Keeping my fingers crossed for the magic 2nd trimester where (hopefully) the nausea will stop and I'll be all energetic and glowing and stuff, because right now I look like a sickly zombie.

Anyone else happy to finally be pregnant but having a really shit time of it?

I feel you, it’s absolutely awful. I had severe nausea and vomiting until I was around 18 weeks and then I got some relief. I was still being sick most days 1/2 times but the overbearing nausea wasn’t as bad. I’m now 31 weeks and it has came back and I’m just willing the time away. Have you got any medication? I tried three different types and the third one helped. Speak to your midwife you shouldn’t have to go through this.

GingerRH · 26/11/2019 09:08

ME! Hating life right now. I'm made a similar post yesterday.

I hate the feeling of feeling sick.

mummyduckduck · 26/11/2019 10:11

No medication so far @Marshmallow1992 and I'm not due to see my midwife again until January. Think I might have to make an extra appointment at this rate though.

It's awful isn't it @GingerRH . The nausea feels worse than the actual sick, but the sickness is a nightmare for getting to work on time.

Hope you both feel better 🤞

@mummyduckduck it's horrendous. I literally feel rotten from the minute I get up until the minute I go to bed.

Refused my dinner last night 😂🤣 made my husband make me plain pasta with some grated cheese.

I'm not actually being sick (I made myself sick yesterday to try and make myself feel better).

I think by the end of this I'm going to resemble a piece of bread as that's all I want to eat

Honey1989 · 26/11/2019 12:30

Oh can I join! I feel so bad for moaning but this first trimester is miserable. I’m sick everyday regardless of what I do,eat or don’t eat!
None of the tips on morning sickness work for me! I’m 13 weeks so hoping the end is near but it doesn’t feel like it. Also worries me because my stomach hurts like I’ve done 1000 sit ups which feels so wrong when you just want to protect the baby!
Feel like everyone must be sick of me being sick too!

LondonMummy1987 · 27/11/2019 15:36

I need to join in with the moan! I am almost 8 weeks and really struggling. Only person who knows so far is husband and I'm sure he must be getting fed up of me moaning now. I haven't been sick but the constant nausea is driving me mad. And the exhaustion!

Good luck everyone, let's hope it gets easier! Flowers

Lemonysherbet · 28/11/2019 14:27

Yay a place to vent! 13 weeks and still throwing up. Had 2 days without being sick and thought that meant the end, it came back with a vengeance at work today.

It's exhausting!

mummyduckduck · 28/11/2019 21:29

Hello ladies, thanks for joining, nice to know I'm not alone.

I've swooped taking my pills from the morning to the evening. That seems to have helped a little, and at least I'm not worrying about throwing up my vitamins before I absorb them.

Had a patch yesterday when the nausea eased up; that made me panic that something was going wrong. Can't wait until this little one starts wriggling so I've got some reassurance that it's in there, Mummy paranoia at its finest!

Hope you're all feeling ok this evening x

Yep I’m with you on this! I’m 8 weeks pregnant and have felt nauseous most of the time. Yesterday it went up a gear and when I carefully brushed my teeth I started retching badly. I told work I’d be late this morning as I needed to take it slow. I was just about to leave for work when I swiftly opened to fridge to get a drink out and was retching again badly. Decided to stay home. I’ve told work as I want them to understand what’s up with me! I’m so grateful I haven’t been vomiting loads like others, I’m such a wimp with being sick luckily I’ve managed to breath through it. I’m really hoping it’s not going to get worse

mummyduckduck · 02/12/2019 20:25

Hey ladies;
Hope you're all feeling ok today.

We had a bit of travelling to do yesterday. Fortunately DP drove as I spent the 2 hours in the car with an emergency sick-bucket on my knee. Thankfully not needed in the end but I came close a few times.

Desperately wishing for some time off work but we're short-staffed so I keep dragging my pale, sicky self in.

I'm 18 weeks now and have been sick since week 5. It's so tiring and I'm sick of people telling me it will stop soon.
I get up eariler as I'm getting late for work. As soon as I sit up I get the sick feeling. I've tried eating toast, ginger nut busicuts and getting up slowly but nothing seems to help.
As soon as I go to the toilet it starts and usually quite flem like. Have a shower then when I get out my head spins and I'm sick again. The joys of then brushing my teeth which also sets me off. Hate the taste of mint so got a no flavour Toothpaste to help but don't feel like my teeth are clean.
Drive to work is difficult, de icing my car then heating on full blast to sort windows which then makes me feel awful.
Work is tough not going to lie but don't really want to ring in sick. Once I'm in work I'm not bad only been sick a few times.
I've lost weight around 15 pound, can't stomach much food and gone off all my favourites. Avoiding meat as when I eat it my sick is much worse and a violent brown colour.
I'm really not enjoying being pregnant

ksarah95 · 03/12/2019 22:06

Hey!

I'm 11 weeks pregnant now. I've been sick since 5th week. I can go days without eating... But that's not good for the baby so I force myself to eat. I used to drink lots of water. Now I can't! I tried speaking to few people no one really understands. That's why I signed up here so I can read and help others who are experiencing the same thing.

McHelenz · 03/12/2019 22:34

I dont mean to bring a downer but I'm 35 weeks and still vomitting regularly. My tips would be to get on an anti sickness asap and to not worry about taking it if you need it.

Also eat what you feel like...and ice lollies are tour friend in the early days!

ksarah95 · 04/12/2019 12:49

Oh really?! I'm worried mine will be through the whole pregnancy. Oh yes I'm having ice cold stuff a lot than hot food or drinks...

ChickenNugget86 · 04/12/2019 13:10

My midwife warned me that it can last all pregnancy and that it can be difficult to put up with.

I asked my GP 2 weeks ago for anti sickness tablets and was just told to wait till 20 weeks as it should stop. Whereas this week has been my worse.... I'm so tired from it. Don't think it's normal to be losing 17 pound while pregnant!

I've also found myself doing one random hiccup every so often.

McHelenz · 04/12/2019 13:18

I had no issue with getting anti sickness and I urge you to ask again. Luckily I've not needed to go to hospital and I think it's purely because I had a gp who listened and prescribed me something which let me keep fluids down.

I also had to go back at 16 weeks when I couldn't keep water down and was signed off for two weeks which really helped me.

It got a bit better but has come back in the third trimester. I was also being sick in my sleep which I've had omeprazole for too and it's really helping. These medications are fine in pregnancy so I think its much more important to try and get as comfortable as possible than suffer for 20 weeks.

ksarah95 · 04/12/2019 13:44

I didn't want to take any tablets because it said you might feel drowsy after taking it so can't drive or use any machinery. I work in an office and it's been stressful and busy at work so I didn't want to take the tablet.

Also, are you all working while pregnant?! How are the employers treating you?

McHelenz · 04/12/2019 14:30

I'm a nurse and have been able to carry on working whilst on cyclizine. The vomitting 10 times a day made me more tired than taking the tablets.

mummyduckduck · 05/12/2019 19:24

Hello ladies,

I'm feeling really sorry for myself today. Went to work today as I've already taken a day off sick this week and was feeling guilty, but I was just a useless mess. No vomit today but the nausea has been so strong it has left me crying into the toilet and wretching. Haven't managed to eat yet today but I've been sipping water.

Opinions wanted please, as I'm not sure what to do...

Do I need to get some help or just toughen up and get on with it?

If I get some help; do I make an appointment with the midwife or the GP?

If I just need to toughen up; how?

McHelenz · 05/12/2019 20:49

@mummyduckduck you need to go and see the GP, I don't think this is a case of being tough. It's debilitating and you need to get some fluids and nutrients in you x

mummyduckduck · 05/12/2019 22:52

Thanks @McHelenz I've been really worried that I was just making too much fuss and needed to get on with it and stop complaining, can't keep going like this though. Time to go and see what the GP says.

Thank you x

Mine eases off if I eat something but I'm off everything tight now apart from chocolate croissants and apples!! I can't eat them forever. Forcing myself to eat decent food but I've been taking a little bucket in the car with me 😳
