I'm pregnant, have gallstones and it's been causing problems. I have been advised by the surgeon to have my gallbladder removed. He thinks that if I don't I and I end up with a complication (pancreatitis or cholecystitis) then the risk of miscarriage or still birth may be high.
Of course, the operation carries its own risks. Has anyone else out there had to have their gallbladder removed while pregnant or had to face this kind of decision? I'm not sure what to do.
