Heart problems at 20 week scan

Our baby has just been diagnosed with a VSD and right aortic arch with vascular ring at 22 weeks. Has anyone else got experience of this? We were recommended to have an Amnio because of the risk of DiGeorge/ 22q deletion and obviously I’m now driving myself mad with worry for the results. Anyone’s experience of this situation would be really welcome xx

Hello, I don't have any advice but just wanted to let you know that I am so sorry to hear this. Not sure what else to say but didn't want you to be alone on here.

My first baby was diagnosed with several heart defects the day after he was born. The doctors, nurses and surgeons who treated him were amazing. Your baby will receive the best care.

I hope that everything goes well for you and your baby. I know it is scary, but open heart surgery really is miraculous in terms of what can be done and the positive outcomes for babies.
