Hi!
I'm 34 weeks pregnant and have just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

I'm gutted!
Can anyone offer me any advice if they have been in the same situation??
Thanks!

Look at the gestational diabetes UK website. Their advice is better than the NHS advice. Are you seeing someone about how to manage it soon?

Essentially cut out sugar, lower carbs and eat plenty of protein and fat... Drink plenty of water.

If you're already 34 weeks you won't have to manage it for long and it will hopefully go when the baby is born. It can mean some issues with baby so you may need extra scans/checks and after baby is born it will need some blood sugar tests. Take some of your own food/snacks to hospital and check if their meals fit with low carb eating - mine didn't so I took peanut butter for toast and high protein yogurts. Sugar free jelly with berries in is a lovely treat as is berries and cream!
