Exercise in the last trimester

I've been relatively lucky with my pregnancy and able to still carry on exercising throughout (I go to the gym about 4 times a week when not pregnant, plus commute via cycle 4 days a week so am very active).
As I've got further along the pregnancy I have down-scaled the exercise I'm doing. I stopped jogging around 18 weeks as I kept needing a wee every 2min Confused.
I've been doing weekly body pump classes (lower weights), body balance and also still cycling a couple of days.

I'm now 28 weeks gestation and wrestling with whether to stop and relax or carry on. I am bigger now bump-wise and feeling a few more aches and pains these days so maybe it's time? But the thought of doing nothing for 3 months terrifies me! I feel better when I exercise plus, shallow as it may seem, I don't want to put on loads of weight (I love my food).

Anyone else in the same position? How long do you plan to carry on for? I'm thinking maybe get to the Christmas break and then put my feet up!

I am newly pregnant at the moment.
In my last pregnancy I carried on right into the late 30 weeks. I modified though...difficult to do burpees that far on!

Doctor t9ld me I could carry on as I wanted. So i did, I dropped some things when the bump got too big, but did yoga to the very end. Listen to your body, if it's happier with some exercise, then exercise.

I carried on with CrossFit/weights until 38 weeks (obviously modifying some movements) and I'm convinced it helped with labour as well as how quickly I've recovered since particularly squats/kB swings/stuff that strengthened the pelvic region. I don't know what body pump/body balance consists of but if it's strength/core/pelvic floor work I would carry on but maybe get some advice from the instructors?

I'd carry on with my classes just with some modifications :) I'd be personally worried about the cycling though, not because of the exercise but just in case I came off my bike, especially this time of year when conditions aren't the best but I'm not a confident cyclist.

I enjoyed swimming in the last trimester.

LolaLollypop · 25/11/2019 19:11

@prinnypree I've cycled for years and am confident so I'm tentatively carrying on for now I think. I am very sensible these days and stick to safe routes.

@dreichwinter I do enjoy swimming but weirdly not when I'm pregnant!

I cycled up until 38.5 weeks...but I had a tiny bump which helped so my centre of gravity hadn't moved a lot and I felt confident and safe doing it...
