Me!! Due a week today. Utterly fed up. Just had a complete melt down and cried at my husband. I have an awful blocked nose, not sleeping, exhausted and can't hardly eat. It was so much easier the first time 😐

Living in hope that she'll appear any day now..... 🙏

benandhollyagaaain · 24/11/2019 19:40

I'm a week overdue today 😩 woke Friday night with really bad period pains three times. Thought it was starting. Have had nothing since. Seeing consultant tomorrow

lilbumblebee · 24/11/2019 19:44

I was due on 22nd November and have had zilch, zip, nada! Every now and then I'll get a wee niggle with tightenings, backache and cramps and then it just dies a death. Have to wait until Friday for my sweep so I'm anticipating I'll probably still be pregnant then, who knows!

I even left my hospital bag half packed thinking it'd maybe jinx things with starting labour odfbut nope, baby is happy and content for now 😂

Hepsibar · 24/11/2019 19:46

Oh no, been there got the badge. Obviously your baby is so very happy where it is in your lovely tummy, why should it want to exit? Take care and good luck when it does happen.

One suggestion, should you have to go thru being induced, do not let the Dr or Midwife conduct a conversation about your options while they are examining you. Request you have this conversation before and after not during, it takes away from your ability to think clearly.

benandhollyagaaain · 24/11/2019 19:51

Good tip Hepsibar. I was induced with my first... Won't be having that again! Plan to hold out as long as I can before opting for section. Fingers crossed she'll come on her own though!

Frankier88 · 24/11/2019 20:05

I'm not pregnant but just wanted to say I know how you all feel!
I went to 40+11 and 40+14 with my two!
The last couple of weeks are agonisingly slow. Wishing you all lots of luck, and enjoy those squishy baby snuggles 😍

badfurday · 24/11/2019 20:13

Just for clarity, is being induced really shit? My first was textbook to be fair, but at the point of asking midwife for an induction, or should I grin and bare it and wait for it to start naturally?

benandhollyagaaain · 24/11/2019 20:39

My experience of induction was very negative and ended in emcs. I do know of people that have been induced without problems though. Just from my own experience I wouldn't opt for another though as I have 'the fear' of a repeat

benandhollyagaaain · 24/11/2019 20:42

Why would you want an induction when you aren't due yet badfurday?

badfurday · 24/11/2019 20:46

Because I'm absolutely done with being pregnant. I can't go over too much as I am 40 and apparently the placenta stops working so well the older you are and closer to full term you are. There was talk of being induced early but I decided to hold off, that was a week ago now.

benandhollyagaaain · 24/11/2019 20:55

Research all your options first. You don't necessarily need to be induced because of your age. You can have health checks completed to make sure baby is happy and healthy etc. Induction also increases your chances of needing a section or other intervention. Whatever you choose good luck! It feels like we're pregnant forever but we are so close to the end and meeting our babies ♥️

Bol87 · 24/11/2019 21:51

I had an induction after a stop/start labour .. I was 40+4 I think when it started. I had the choice & I gladly took it as I was exhausted after two days of contractions, no sleep & only 2cm dilated! The pain was shocking but my daughter was back to back as well. I’d have another one, nothing my already planned epidural couldnt fix Grin I did end up with forceps but not because of the induction or epidural .. my daughter decided to put her arm over her head and got completely stuck! They could suddenly see her head & her hand and I got swiftly whipped to theatre!

Good luck OP, nearly there Smile

bobble53 · 24/11/2019 22:40

I’m due in 9 days and seem to be feeling differently to all of you... not ready for it to happen yet!
I am very uncomfortable and sore but I think my feelings are because I only finished work on Friday and still feel like I have quite a bit of nesting to do. Feeling very emotional tonight about the thought of pregnancy being over too... it’s gone so fast! Of course I can’t wait to meet my baby but I’m hoping that in the next few days I’ll start to feel a bit more ready.

agteacht · 25/11/2019 01:04

Due in 10 days, feel your pain 😬
Not finishing work until this Friday, just tired and fed up now.

This is my first, any tips on signs of impending labour?

Have more tightening than usual and the odd cramp but no plug or anything like that yet...

ln2793 · 25/11/2019 04:28

I'm 40 + 5- getting lots of tightenings and braxton hicks throughout the day and night but no pain. Getting frustrated, especially with messages from friends asking if the baby has arrived yet? Puts you under so much pressure and insinuates I've got control over when she arrives. Hope you are all doing okay! X

Lumosknox · 25/11/2019 06:48

I was induced just over a week ago and found the whole experience surprisingly good (I really wanted it to happen naturally). I would be fine with being induced again in the future - the only downside was the pool didn't end up being an option.

Autumntoowet · 25/11/2019 08:09

You need to look at proper research about this. That old chestnut 🌰is repeated so often without given proper data

aliensprig · 25/11/2019 13:12

I've heard in other countries they don't actually consider a pregnancy to be overdue until after 42 weeks... Clearly baby isn't quite ready yet? :)

ps1991 · 25/11/2019 13:15

My little one was born 6 days early. We had been into hospital the day before for reduced movements and were due to be induced the day he was actually born. I had no signs at all that he was coming. I woke up at 3am and my waters went and I immediately started having fast contractions and he was born at 12:15pm :)

kkl1 · 25/11/2019 15:05

5 days till my due date and I have another sweep booked in for tomorrow so fingers crossed this one works lol I've never goner over my due date I do think I'm going to this time been drinking raspberry leaf tea an clary sage in my bath and nothing happening been having more braxton Hicks but no pain just like others have mentioned xx

meandmyboyz · 25/11/2019 15:18

I'm 15 days from official due date but due to gestational diabetes and now high blood pressure I'm being induced in 4 days .

I've had 2 really positive previous inductions 4 hours and a 2 hour so not all inductions are negative.

Good luck everyone xx
