Twins at 8+6, so worried about 12 week scan!

I had a private scan when I thought I was 8+6, and found out I was pregnant with identical twins, one measured 8+6 and one measured 8+5 which I was pretty surprised at considering how poorly I’ve felt and how little I’ve been able to eat! Both had strong heartbeats and all was fine.

I’ve since told everyone who already knew I was pregnant (family, close friends and work) that it’s twins and of course we are all so excited, but I can’t help but be crazy and worry I will get bad news at my 12 week scan!! I’m 10 weeks today.

I’ve read about vanishing twin syndrome but from what I’ve read this seems to be more common in non identical twins as it’s usually caused by a chromosomal abnormality.

Please spam me with similar stories where all has been fine and tell me to stop being stupid! Thank you!

My cousin found out they were having twins at an early scan. Identical girls born at 34 weeks now 4 months old and absolutely gorgeous.

Congratulations! I'm 24 weeks with identical twins, and found out at a private scan around the same time as you! 12 week scan went fine, and from 16 weeks onwards you will be monitored super closely with identicals. It's lovely getting plenty of chances to see them Smile
There is a thread for us ladies expecting twins in 2020 if you want to come and join us!

I’m 27 weeks with DCDA twins, saw them first at 6+5, then again a week later - all was absolutely fine at the 12 week scan :) I’m sure your little ones will be too!
