Nipple piercings

Just wondering if anyone had their nipples pierced and managed to breastfeed successfully? I thought I was done with the baby days and got mine pierced. As soon as I found out I was pregnant I took them out so about 2 months ago but they are still open. Will they ever close? I breastfed my other kids and ill be gutted if I've ruined my chances for breastfeeding this baby.
Thanks

I had my nipples pierced and took them out mid pregnancy. Although the holes never closed I still managed to breastfeed successfully.

Sorry for tmi but I squeezed my nipple today to check the hole and a bit of white stuff came out. Obviously I don't want my baby having that! I just hope the holes close up. I have a friend that had one side pierced and she can only feed from the other boob. I had both mine done!

I get the white stuff too and presume my baby probably did too while I breastfed and it did her no harm so I wouldn't worry!

I had both mine pierced and it didn't affect me breastfeeding at all

That's reassuring thanks

Hi. Slightly different so apologies, I've had my kids now so not worried about breastfeeding, but thinking of having mine done. Could I ask is it very painful having done/afterwards and also, more practically, I've seen the odd celeb with them and they showed through her top. Is that normal or just her showing them off?

Thanks in anticipation?

Only read that baby make take longer to get used to breast feeding as more milk can come out
Don't have any experience of this though

2littleChicks · 25/11/2019 06:54

I had mine done and still breastfed. The holes closed up before DC was born. Then had them re-done a couple years later!
PP yes it does hurt but only for a sec, they are sensitive as hell whilst healing but no they don't show through all of your clothes unless you're lucky enough to go without a bra!

LittleFoote · 25/11/2019 06:58

I had one side done years ago. Baby only feeds from the non pierced one. It's as if the scar tissue has blocked the ducts and not enough milk comes out. 😒

Delbelleber · 25/11/2019 07:35

I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. It was hard enough establishing breastfeeding before so I'm really hoping these extra holes don't cause problems.

Namechangedyorkshire I didn't find the piercing or recovery to be that sore really. I'd imagined it would be worse. I was sometimes conscious you could see something when I wore my work uniform because its quite tight accross the chest but generally I'd just forget about it.

Littlefoote did your piercing hole close up?

OP posts:
LittleFoote · 25/11/2019 08:50

Yes the hole is healed. I took my piercing out years before I got pregnant. I use to get white stuff from it when it was healing. This is a build up of dead skin and soap, smells a bit cheesy (gross).
Baby feeds really well from the non pierced one.
Another girl I see at breastfeeding group had one side done and her baby feeds from both but has a preference, as they all do, for one side. It happens to be the non pierced side.

@Delbelleber @2littleChicks
Thanks for the reply. may encourage me. I had an intimate one done a few years ago which DH loves and think now is a good time to try nipples but been a bit worried about the pain and soreness

Delbelleber · 25/11/2019 18:29

Youch was the intimate one sore? Is it good?

I had the clitoris hood done (not clit). Yes it was really good. A friend had it done a few months before and she told me in a girlie (drunken) night. Her bf loved seeing it in her and she liked. Said I was thinking about one and she said she would come with me for support if needed. Thought about it and a few weeks later yes had done.

Yes you feel it. I didn't watch but it felt like they clamp it and then when it goes through it really makes your eyes water but then was fine. Just have to look after it like any piercing for the first few weeks in particular.

I asked about nipples as wasn't sure if the initial pain continues as the clit hood if more thin skin

Oh...yes DH loves it, even just seeing it if I'm getting out of the shower and is nice during sex without going into TMI😉

2littleChicks · 26/11/2019 07:37

@Namechangedyorkshire does it catch during sex?

Delbelleber · 26/11/2019 08:06

I don't think I'd be brave enough for that one Blush

@2littleChicks Well you can feel it but in a very nice way 😀. I suppose potential it could do it you have a larger hood I guess....I'm very petite down there so not much spare skin lol

Don't underestimate the male delight for the visual and doing some rather nice things with his tongue lol
