Hi everyone! Im currently about 5 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing what feels like mild period pains (a little bit today and the other day too). I've also had a tiny amount of brown discharge (hardly noticeable but it's there) over the last few days and I've been googling like crazy. It seems to be normal but I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? And should I be worried or not? This is my first baby so I'm just not sure what to expect!

Hello! I’m 6 weeks today and from about 3-5 weeks I got cramps every day sometimes quite sore they’ve eased off but I heard it means a sticky baby! I think as long as its not bright red blood or a lot it’s normal x

Thank you @tashaa1 - I feel a bit less anxious now! Hopefully it's nothing to worry about then Smile

My sister had cramps with both her pregnancies unless it’s bright and a lot you should be fine! Saying that she bled quite a lot and has two healthy 6 and 3 year olds! Smile

At 5-6 weeks I had such severe cramping and bleeding that I sobbed for days thinking I had miscarriage. DS is now 14 months so evidently not

I had cramps, I read they should be “moderate” but mine were like really bad period pains which made me panic but everything was fine! Grin

Hey Everyone,
This is my first post here..I'm looking for some advice if anyone can help I will be very grateful...
So i think I'm around 5weeks pregnant with my second child 1st being 7yrs old, my flo app is showing I am 8days late for my period and I am never late apart from times I've been pregnant. Now this may sound silly but I'm really scared to test and get a negative result. I've had 2 miscarriages in the past and currently experiencing very light period like cramps and very twingy. No bleeding or spotting whatsoever but I'm just really anxious to test!! I have sore boobs and I'm just exhausted. I think it's that I'm just unsure, having these period like cramps are making me think the witch is coming! I dont know if this is normal.
Sorry guys I know it sounds silly, just cant pluck up the courage 😰

Thank you so much for your replies everyone! I feel much better knowing others have been through this and still had healthy pregnancies and healthy babies afterwards Smile

Ahh, was wondering this too! I keep having mild cramps and then once a day I get bad cramping that feels like my old period pain (before birth control) which is quite bad.

Justasconfusedwithnumber2 · 24/11/2019 18:02

Yeah I had bad period like cramps too. I went swimming the day after finding out I was pregnant and remember crying to DH that I didn't want to get out the pool as I 'knew that I would be bleeding'. It just felt so much like my period was starting. I was super paranoid, checking every time I went for a wee as I suspected to see blood. DS is now two and driving me bonkers Confused I've had the same second time around (32 weeks pregnant)

Bananacake20 · 25/11/2019 16:35

@erised it's so odd isn't it! I'd just not really heard of this happening until now but it does seem like it must be normal!

Thank you @Justasconfusedwithnumber2 - I've been the same, getting upset because I was convinced something bad was happening! So glad to hear that everything was well in the end with your little one. Hopefully I can relax a little now

I’ve had exactly the same and been so worried, cramps every day feeling exactly like AF was on her way!
Feeling lots better after reading the responses here so thanks OP and everyone who has replied - where would we be without Mumsnet?! 😊
