hi all,

I know it's a silly fear and in grand scheme of things not a big deal but I really struggle to take capsules. was given an omeprazole capsule today by hospital to take before my c section on Tuesday and didnt even think until I got home that I have anxiety attacks when trying to take capsules as I of course am more focusing on Tuesday. anyway, my question is I read on the NHS website that most omeprazole tablets you can actually open and take the powder with food? does anyone know if this is true and have had experience of this? I probably will double check with a pharmacist tomorrow but was curious beforehand.

thanks x

I would assume it's safer to ask for a liquid form?

Yes you can do this, I have a swallowing disorder and take omeprazole by opening the capsule and sprinkle the granules on a spoon of yogurt or similar.
To be honest I also just open the capsule onto my tongue and wash down with water but the first option is the medically recommended way

doesnt seem that liquid form is very easy to come by for this unfortunately! ahh thank you, I did see it on NHS website but wanted to see if anyone had any experience! makes me feel a lot better about it. seems such a silly thing to worry about but I just get really panicky about it x
