Feeling baby move

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and been feeling baby move for the past week or so it's got stronger as the days have past and feeling it more and more. Especially mornings and during the evening are when I feel it most. Still feels like butterflies, going over a hill in a car or muscle twitching no definite kicks yet.

When it happens I get a sudden urge of happiness and the bond with my baby gets stronger and stronger. Is anybody else like this? X

I remember this - I don’t know about ‘surge of happiness’, more like ‘oh shit there really is a baby in there’ Grin I think I was about 20 weeks or maybe a bit more when I began to feel it kick and you can see it too when you lie down flat. That’s quite amazing to watch Smile

@Pinkblueberry 🤣🤣 yes I've had the oh shit feeling too!

My husband puts his hand on my bump but obviously he can't feel it yet when I say I can feel it he pulls a sad face at me so can't wait for him to feel it now.

Yes I can't wait to actually see my belly moving hopefully won't be long x

Aww, this brings back such amazing memories. Feeling the kicks was such a special thing. The best bit of pregnancy by far! I distinctly remember feeling my very first kick with DC1, laying in bed one Saturday morning and felt a little ping in my tummy. I was 18 or 19 weeks and it was just the most surreal and wonderful moment!

@Sleeplesssleepseeker awwww it really is amazing. It's hard to explain how it feels until you've been through it it's just the best feeling ever 😍😍

Can't wait for my first kick now it's my birthday in 2 weeks so hopefully I'll have my first kick around then would be the best birthday ever! Got my 20 weeks scan the day after my birthday too so an extra birthday present 🙂 x

Be warned if your bumps anything like my first was.. and so far second... it might take dp a while to feel a kick. That was the one sure fire way to get ds1 to chill out, if he touched me somehow ds knew and froze like ahhh nope not today old man!!Grin.

The first time he felt him move I was laying against his back and I got told “stop poking at me I’m trying to sleep”... wasn’t me ds was kicking me that hard he could feel the lump on his back.

Number two so far kicks for ds but not dp 23weeks.. maybe they just don’t like showing off.

Yes I love feeling my baby move. It’s amazing. My DH has felt one or two but they are the stronger ones. Nothing consistent yet. I totally understand how you feel x

@Lunafortheloveogod I've read on the internet that baby knows when it's mums hand and when it's dad they stop moving/kicking.

When we went to our 12 week scan baby was wriggling around so much she was struggling to get measurements so think we have a little wriggler especially after I've eaten or had a drink.

It's like a little moment between me and baby that nobody knows about or can feel 😍😍 x
