How long do you think?!

Hey I am 40 weeks + 4 and had a sweep yesterday. The midwife said I was 2cms dilated. This morning I have lost my mucus plug. Do you think this means I have dilated more and that’s why it’s come away?! I’ve been having some back and stomach pain are these all good signs?! I really want this baby to come soon.

Unfortunately no one can really tell you a deffinate answer as everyone reacts differently. You can loose your plug a while before labour/birth.
Back and lower stomach pains are a good sign labour is approaching but it could be days yet. Try going for a long walk etc as this can help things along. With my 2nd I was getting these types of pains for about 2/3 weeks before I went into labour but I was only 1 day overdue x

I’m 40+3 lost part of my plug on Tuesday, had sweep on Thursday and I’m also 2cm dialated. Lost more of my plug last night but this time it was more like a bloody show. Still waiting patiently. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer for us x

Don't read into loosing your plug or a show, they can happen any time. But back and stomach pain are a good sign! Do you have a birthing ball? I found that great for keeping things moving.

The pains have been on and off all afternoon so i’m keeping my fingers crossed bub will be here very soon!

My contractions are about 3 mins apart. But i’ve not to call the midwife back till they are 2 mins apart and last 90secs for three hours! So i’m pretty fed up to be honest! Paracetamol is crap!

I’ve had another sweep today and if no luck I’m having an induction tomorrow due to baby measuring small x

@Tilly94My little boy arrived this morning at 7am with a bit of help from the old forceps as he was back to back and wouldn’t turn. He’s a proper chunk at 8lb 11 but i’m so in love with him. Hopefully yours won’t be too long!

Awww amazing news, congratulations! I’m waiting for my waters to be broken as I’m still 2cm dilated but apparently labor ward is very busy so will probably be tomorrow now. Had my third sweep today, so fingers crossed something happens later on tonight x

Our baby girl arrived this morning after being induced yesterday, labor started at 3.50pm and she was born this morning at 8.23am weighing 8lb 12! So happy she’s finally here, hope you and your baby boy are doing well
