Holy. Effing. Shhhhhhhhheeeetttttt!

I’ve had aches and twinges for a while now (I’m 15 weeks) but not thought anything of it. All of a sudden, my lower back is in EXCRUCIATING pain! Recommended treatment? Move more. Exercise. 😩 I work in a desk job and I have to roll my chair to the printer because it’s too painful to get up - Never mind the fact I can barely leave my desk due to the amount of work I actually need to get done.

Help me, please! Any stretches I can do at my desk, or anything I can take to help? 😭 or is anyone just in the same boat and can offer a little bit of sympathy? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m falling to BITS! 😩

I was experiencing these pains towards the end of my 2nd trimester, now I'm in my 3rd! But i also have a desk job, what i found helped my back pain was sitting at desk with a hot water bottle ALL THE TIME! Also not moving much during the day worked!
Good luck!! x

I'm exactly the same I'm 17 weeks and since Wednesday I've been in agony it hurts to sit stand lay I'm just in constant pain in bottom of my back on left side and in my hip I have a hot water bottle constantly attached to my back. I did go to chemist yesterday who said I needed to see a doctor as they couldn't give me anything not even the heat pads Rand doctors and can't get in for 2 weeks so till then it looks like long soaks and hot water bottles. All my 3 previous pregnancies have been back to back and they seem to like been in my back more but usually dosent start giving me grief till 28/30 weeks never had it thus early

Ohhh gosh - we’re a mess! It’s exhausting just shifting in my seat 😫

I’ve got a hot water bottle on your advice now, and I’m taking my lunch break to try and go for a bit of a walk. So gutted there’s nothing I can take! 😭

You can take paracetamol. I would see your gp as they can prescribe stronger painkillers. When did you last see midwife? I would speak with them and ask advice as at 15 weeks pregnant I don't think you should be in that amount of pain it could be something that needs checking out. X

Go and get a massage! Not from a spa, from a physio. I went to a great one and it IMMEDIATELY alleviated the pain and the physio taught me some great exercises to help if it came back.

Also, an at home remedy is to put a tennis ball between you and the wall and rub it around on the pressure point/painful area to relieve pressure.

I had horrific back pain in my second trimester and couldn't drive or sit at my desk too long. It didn't last long so fingers crossed it gets better for you! The massage really helped.

@Boymummy3 it’s my lower back/glutes on one side, so I’m not HUGELY worried - and I’ve got quite the history of injuring my hips through running etc! But I will definitely speak to my midwife to find out what’s normal around this time 😊

@India999 good shout on the tennis ball! I will try that one - I was thinking about using my foam roller tonight as well but obviously want to make sure I don’t do anything wrong. 👍🏼 If it gets any worse I’ll check in with my physio, but I’m sure it’s due to sitting on my rapidly expanding bum all day!
