Hello, me and my partner are wanting to start trying for our 2nd. However, my anxiety is through the roof in regards to miscarrying. I havent miscarried before but it seems to run in my family. And more times then not it seems to be with said family members 2nd pregnancy. I'm beside myself with worry and part of me even feels like I need to 'get it over with' as though its going to be 'my turn'. I have a big family and it has happened to most of the women in my family with their 2nd pregnancy. Also 3 of my friends miscarried their 2nd pregnancies too. [Sad] am I over thinking ? [Sad]

Hi, I completely understand your anxiety. Miscarriage is so much more common than people think- but I don't think there is really any pattern to it. I miscarried on my first and third pregnancies- but now have a wonderful, healthy 3yo and am currently nearly 16w pregnant. It's hard to push past it, I'm quite anxious even now! But it's just one of those things- all we can try and do is think positively. Fingers crossed for you that if you decide to go for it all goes well. xx

I had an early mmc with my 2nd and although it isn't a nice thing to go through of course the way I look at it without sounding harsh is if its going to happen then its going to happen and honestly nothing can be done to stop it. I think because I've got that mentality about it then it doesn't really cross my mind. I went on to have a successful 3rd pregnancy and now nearly 31week with my 4th(3rd baby)

Everyone is anxious during pregnancy as its the unknown that gets to us but honestly you will drive yourself nuts thinking the way you are doing. Mc don't run in families and alot of women have them unfortunately so with you having a big family your reading into it too much.
If your wanting a 2nd baby go for it and try and relax x

Going through this now, and been anxious and paranoid since the beginning. Due to that won't be shopping until after 25/30 weeks.

I'm 17+4 today with my 2nd, and truthfully I think if you're gonna worry before you're pregnant you'll probably worry during. But remember the risk of miscarriage goes down after 12 weeks. I did have a previous MC before 12 weeks, but didn't know it was 1 in 4 before that time.

Just keep yourself busy and try not to stress, easier said than done I know! But go for it!
