Just after some advice of what to expect really. 3rd baby due to be induced at some point today and a little apprehensive other 2 were spontaneous labours so I had no time to worry or work myself up. Not usually one to be phased but I’m feeling very overwhelmed right now. DH is very supportive so I know I’m not on my own as such but feel like I could cry at any given moment.... I know right man up princess!

When I was inducted the thing that kept me going was my partner holding my feet and kicking into him. And try not to think about it. I have no idea how “normal” labour is but tbh the induction as awful as it can be is how I got my son.

Inductions are all different. I hated mine, but I was being induced early so your cervix will be miles more ready.

I had the pessaries and after the first few, the internal exams were sort of like burning and very sore. But then they broke my Waters which was difficult because my cervix was still high and closes, but the moment they went pop, I went from 0 to 10 within an hour. My mum was induced with both my brother and I because we were late. She had the drip attached. She told me it was bearable. For me, the spontaneous labour with my first, was the hardest but I was young, no amount of books prepare you, and I'm on the spectrum and was very frightened.

You can ask them all the questions you need to and they will tell you more than we can. What I'll say is, I don't know what other people's experience of broken Waters is but they didn't break til I was pushing, in my natural birth. In my induction the moment they were artificially broken the head was right on the inside of the cervix - ow. But I coped so much better.

Good luck

Just want to say thank you for the messages and advice. So glad it wasn’t my first baby I would have had no more! It was awful - from my last labour being under an hour start to finish, this one lasted 17 hours and took forever. I have never felt anything like it! Still it’s over now and soon be lost in the memory tank!!
