I could have typed this when I was 5 weeks pregnant.

I still can. It doesn’t get better 🙃

Literally could saw off my own legs in the middle of the night.

32 weeks now btw. The rest has pretty much been a breeze but this last trimester is something else. I just want this baby out now.

I’ve had this in all my pregnancies and it’s unfortunately lasted right up to the end! I actually found that putting a pillow underneath my feet to raise them up abit helped sometimes!

kazza446 · 19/11/2019 22:58

Had it with my first pregnancy. I was advised to rub vics vapour rub on legs at night time and it bizarrely worked!!!

Low potassium can be a cause of restless legs. I was having a lot of trouble with restless legs and then noticed that a blood test showed slightly low potassium (having loads of blood tests at the moment for unrelated condition). I have been trying to eat high potassium foods like bananas, potatoes etc and it has noticeably improved, so I would recommend it as worth a try if you're suffering!

This was one of my worst symptoms all the way through. Total torture!!!

ejmay90 · 20/11/2019 09:49

I always find i get restless legs when i'm getting tired, so the minute i start to feel like that off to bed i go!
17 weeks now and my bedtime from 8.30/9pm hasn't changed from the first trimester! :(

attillathenun · 20/11/2019 10:19

I’ve had this too OP and the only thing that helped for me was wearing flight socks all day. Also sleeping with your legs elevated can help a bit. Nothing worse than going mental all night wanting to saw your legs off and not being able to sleep 😩

I find that a magnesium supplement helps

Em2122 · 20/11/2019 12:49

Embarrassing but the only cure for restless legs is orgasming, it has been a life saver as restless legs are absolute torture

louisepx · 20/11/2019 18:00

Oh wow! I feel all you guys, it's actually horrible isn't it 😢😢😢 thanks for the advice🙊 I'll be eating bananas till they come out my ears!😂😂

Am with a PP on the orgasm front! Miracle.

Restless legs is also a symptom of anaemia, which might also make you tired and light headed. Mention it to your GP/midwife so you can have some bloods done

I had horrible restless legs in my last pregnancy to the point I had to take my trousers off when lying on the couch cos they were driving me mad. I had low iron which I think was something to do with it.
