Weight gain

My starting weight was 56.5 kg, I'm nearly 22 weeks and have put on several kg taking me to 61.5kg. I'm quite mortified as most of this weight seems to have been put on last few weeks. Is this ok?

I think average weight gain for pregnancy is 1.5-2 stone so you’re fine. I put on 1.5 st but was heavy beforehand so had to be super careful.

I’ve gained almost 3 stone!! Was only 9 stone to begin with. Due in 2 weeks.

@silverlining91 I started at 57kg and at 22wks I weighed 65kg

I found in 1st trimester I put on 1lb per week and 2nd to now (@33wk) I've gained around 2lbs/wk

I have allowed myself to eat whatever I want, rarely exercised (compared to 3hrs of exercise/wk pre-pregnancy)

I'm annoyed at myself but was so stressed with buying all the baby stuff, I just let go...trying hard not to gain too much as I am past the target I set for myself Angry

Pregnancy weight gain was not in a straight line for me. I found towards the end I didn't put much more weight on at all.

For my first two pregnancies I put on about 12kg - 14kg. I was in the UK, pretty relaxed about weight gain, ate what I wanted and young. Lost all the weight by 4 months and more.

Last pregnancy, was in Japan. I was older and my midwife was very particular about my weight gain. Only put on just 10 kg and was very controlled in my eating as if you put on too much weight you are considered high risk there. Took my almost 9 months to lose all the weight. I found it harder to shift the weight as I was older, even though I had 3 kids!

I guess what I'm saying is each woman and even pregnancy is different. Your weight gain so far sounds fine, not too much. You may not gain much towards the end of your body needs to put on more now.

By the way, I'm a normal weight or even on the slim side...
