“Carrying high”

I am currently 35 weeks and I have been told by nearly everyone I meet that I’m “carrying high”. “Oh you’re bump is very high, you will go overdue”. “You’re bump’s quite high, I think you’ll be late”. “Ooh your baby isn’t coming on due date” ... you get my drift.

That said - I’d be really interested for those of you who have been there to let me know if that was true - were you carrying your baby high and did you deliver early/on time/late?
I’d love some real life experiences as I’d be really interested to see if there is actually a correlation 😊

Thanks in Advance!

It's just one of many things people say to make conversation.

My bump was very high thanks to polyhydramnios. Baby was born 6 days late.

I’m 38+4 and with my first baby and he still hasn’t ‘dropped’. It’s getting very uncomfortable and oh my god the heartburn... between all the comments I’m getting and everything I’m reading about how first baby’s ‘drop’ between 34-36 weeks I am getting very disheartened and could honestly cry a little. You still have loads of time though for wee one to drop before you need to worry about going over. Try bouncing on a birthing ball or doing some pelvic tilts if you want to feel like you’re being proactive! (Not that they’ve done me any good this far tbh...)

I am 38 weeks and baby looks to be carrying high but is definitely engaged (belly dropped a little but not loads). Reason? Baby is tall, I have very little fat over my upper abdomen where the bump is and I am short waisted.

My bump was initially really high but then he dropped probably at 38 weeks and was really well engaged in my pelvis from then on. Still went to 41+5. So who knows!

I carried high with first pregnancy and approaching 39 weeks was convinced I'd go 2 weeks overdue as I didn't feel anything. Never had Braxton Hicks either.
Waters broke at 39+4 and contractions started slowly, I delivered early on due date.

Everyone told me I was carrying high from 36 weeks, baby had been engaged from 31 weeks and didn’t budge, so their perception meant nothing. I did go five days over, it DD was just stubborn :)
