Hello,

Just hoping someone is able to give any reassuring advice please, I had a scan today at 6+5 weeks (I've had 4 miscarriages before) it showed a very tiny baby and a heartbeat now I'm happy to see a heartbeat but am very worried that my baby isn't growing as it should.

With my other pregnancies my early scans have always shown a baby and heartbeat but always measured about a week behind and they have always ended up in a miscarriage, has anyone measured a week behind and gone on to have their baby?

I have another scan in 2 weeks to check progress but that scan is always when I find out the worst so very nervous!

Thank you in advance!

I measured a week behind with my DS2 and DD. Thought I was 7ish weeks but they put me at 6ish. By the time I got to my 12 week scan I'd caught back up with DS2 and was only 3 days behind my dates with DD

DS2 is now 16 months and DD is 2 weeks.

I had a few miscarriages as well around my pregnancies

I went at 7+0 weeks for a private and baby was 2.8 mm, saw the heartbeat. They said I'm 5+ weeks( which was impossible, I DTD once and knew when exactly).

Next day due to pain my GP sent me to EPAULET and they measured 4.8 mm and said 5+ weeks.

At my dating scan I measured 3 days behind( which is possible), but not almost two weeks behind.

I find early scans can be quite in accurate in measurements plus the babies grow differently.
We're talking about millimetres and even thou the technology is advanced it can't see such tiny babies really well.

Seeing a baby and a heartbeat at your stage it's great and I wouldn't worry too much about measurements.

At my viability scan I was told the heart rate, if it was over a specific minimum amount, always trumped the crl and they could consider babies who were up 2 weeks behind in crl. I think you have had some really rotten luck thus far - hopefully this one sticks!

Mine was less than 2mm and I was petrified. Turned out my dates just weren’t accurate and baby was fine - even had a heartbeat when we were told he was under 2mm. I spent days googling and expecting the worse (wasn’t offered another scan) but all was fine and I’m now 38 weeks pregnant waiting for him to arrive!

Thank you for all your replies definitely has calmed me down and I'm feeling more positive about it again will just have to wait till the next scan and will hopefully see some progress!
