16dpo, positive hcg blood test, brown discharge

Hi all,

I'm sure this is normal, and from the massive amount of googling I've done it says it is, but I just want to share experiences!

I'm currently 16dpo, with my expected period due tomorrow. I had bloods done two days ago which were confirmed as positive, so I'm pregnant.

My last period was 15th October 2019 so my apps calculate due date as July 2020.

I had some brown/pink spotting about 5 days ago and today I have some brown spotting only when I wipe.
Is this normal? Especially around my expected period due date?

As you can imagine I'm a bit worried somethings going on! Xx

Big congratulations! I had a bit of spotting around my expected period, assumed it was AF on her merry way but it turned out to be implantation bleeding and I had a BFP when I finally tested. A bit of light spotting should be ok but watch out for heavy, painful bleeding and/or clots. See your GP if you are really concerned. Good luck with the pregnancy!

I had a little bit of brown discharge the same kind of time as you. Dr told me as it’s brown it’s old ... (red blood is new) so it was just a little bit of blood from the implantation, and had been sitting around a little while before it then slowly travelled out! I’m now 35 weeks pregnant so was all good. Hope this is the same case for you too x

Seems it was more than just spotting, as I'm sure my period has arrived today 🙁

@BendNSnap @ZoJo1111 just to let you know, the bleeding continued heavily and I'm pretty sure I'm now no longer pregnant. Obviously wasn't meant to be xx

Oh I'm so sorry OP. That's heartbreaking. Have you been back to the doctors?

@BendNSnap I went today and she referred me to the early pregnancy unit for a scan tomorrow. I was in the department next door with my mum for something unrelated and mentioned it. They said they don't scan until 6 weeks (I think I'm only 5) so have arranged for bloods. I'll find out if the hcg has gone up or down since the last positive blood test last week, so 🤞🏻 by tomorrow afternoon I'll know either way x

@Louu99 I am in the same position as you. Currently 5+4 done 2 clearblue tests n both said pregnant even did one this morning however had some bleeding today so went to docs, she did a test which was negative I then went and had blood test which confirmed I was pregnant but levels were too low to send me for early scan, got to go back for another blood test Wednesday to see if levels have risen or lowered. Xx
