I didn't get any bump till 25 weeks and even when I gave birth at 37 weeks I just looked like I'd eaten a pizza. I was overjoyed! Back in my jeans 4 days after birth.

Boymummy3 · 16/11/2019 09:20

With my 2nd if i remember rightly i was over 20 weeks when i got a propper baby bump. Dont worry yourself some women show sooner than others it doesnt mean something is wrong but of course if you wanted to book a private scan nothing wrong with that xx

This was the day I gave birth.

LividLaughLove · 16/11/2019 09:34

Before or after???????? @20viona

20viona · 16/11/2019 09:36

@LividLaughLove Before!

LividLaughLove · 16/11/2019 09:38

In awe. My belly was bigger before I got pregnant 😅 You must be an ab machine!

ElphiasDoge · 16/11/2019 09:38

I had hardly anything at 17 weeks. I could tell but nobody else really could unless they knew me well. It popped out all of a sudden at 20 weeks!

20viona · 16/11/2019 09:41

@LividLaughLove I don't know how Cuz I don't exercise regularly lol. I genuinely just think I was really lucky. However it was so painful because she was right up high in my ribs it was agony.

RedPandaFluff · 16/11/2019 09:46

@KHall84 don't worry - I've only just started to show properly now at 34 weeks. I've been on holiday a couple of times in the last two months and you wouldn't have known I was pregnant, just slightly rounded of tummy.

How big your bump is depends on so many things - your build, what position the baby is lying in (mine has been transverse most of my pregnancy, which shows less) etc.

I know it's unsettling because you're worried the baby isn't growing properly, but chances are everything is fine and you're just lucky!

Lakedeal · 16/11/2019 10:38

I am so glad you asked this - I am 17 / 4 and have been wondering exactly the same! It's reassuring to read all the responses.

tryagain20 · 16/11/2019 11:55

Why is someone who doesn't show lucky ?

Either is fine if you ask me. Some people show earlier or more and others don't. I wouldn't consider either alternative to be 'lucky' or better than the other.

20viona · 16/11/2019 12:21

@tryagain20 personal opinion that's all.

secretllama · 16/11/2019 12:25

I am 17 +4 and I feel the same, went to a family party last week and everyone commented how I dont even look pregnant. I was starting to worry anyway as I was comparing myself to my friends at 17 weeks who had already popped. I had my midwife appt this week who picked up heartbeat straight away on the doppler so I'm now a bit more at ease that baby is happy in there just taking their time to be known Smile

welshweasel · 16/11/2019 12:29

First time round I didn’t look pregnant until about 25 weeks. This time round I was pregnant looking in tight clothes by 20 weeks but could hide it in baggy clothes right up to the end. Everyone is different!

Snipples · 16/11/2019 12:40

First time around I didn't have much to show until after 18 weeks. I'm now 16 weeks second time round and have had a prominent bump since 12 weeks. Def no hiding it this time.

Worriedmum97 · 16/11/2019 15:34

@LividLaughLove I’m the same. After 2nd baby I’ve been dreaming about a tummy like that when not pregnant. I’m struggling to hide bump by 12 weeks usually. Always thought it was to do with the fact that I didn’t do any sport/dance/etc classes as a child, so my abdominal muscles are weak

RedPandaFluff · 16/11/2019 17:00

I felt lucky that I could wear my normal clothes for longer, and didn't have some of the discomfort associated from a big bump for very long, @tryagain20

abbs1 · 16/11/2019 17:18

I'm 20weeks+3 and if I didn't tell anyone no one would know I was pregnant. I have a tilted back womb so not sure if this is making my bump look smaller. All fine at my 20 week scan. Hoping a bump starts to show soon so I actually feel more pregnant. My hips are already killing me when I'm trying to sleep so maybe a not having a bump is a good thing.

ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords · 16/11/2019 17:26

Why is someone who doesn't show lucky ?

They can still fit comfortably in their normal clothes.

doublebarrellednurse · 16/11/2019 18:15

I didn't show properly till 22 weeks. I'm 25+6 now and have grown rapidly. That's my second baby too.

Baby is fine!
