Hiya,

Just after a little bit of help please.

Me and my husband have fallen in love with the Silver across Pioneer Special Edition Expedition ( link below)

www.silvercrossbaby.com/our-products/prams-and-strollers/special-edition/pioneer-expedition/pioneer-expedition/

Has anyone got this pram? If so what car seat did you get to go with it?

I'm worried about spending a fortune on the simplicity car seat for it to only be used a few month.

Has anyone get any pictures of this edition please?

Thanks in advance xxx

we used a joie car seat on a silvercross. We just bought the adapters.

I have this pram, can't wait to use it when baby gets here Smile

We went for a Maxi Cosi car seat because the reviews of the Silvercross car seats are not very good. The lady in John Lewis also told us not to bother buying the Silvercross car seat because for this very reason, and said a lot of people return them. As PP said, you can buy adaptors so that other brands fit on the pram.

@attillathenun which of the maxi cosi seats did you go for please? I'm struggling to pick one.

Have you seen the limited edition in person?

I haven't Iv only seen the standard pioneer in mothercare so taking a massive gamble ordering it.

Congratulations on your little one, when are you due?
Xxxx

We initially liked the silvercross pioneer but JL did a price match on Uppababy Vista which looks a bit more premium to me so bought that instead.

Maxicosi with adaptors here too.

@Sprinkles07032020 I think it might be the maxi cosi pebble we got.

I saw the limited edition in a John Lewis (annoyingly not near where I live!) but to be honest the silver cross colours you see on the website are quite true to life. I would recommend trying out some different car seats with the pram in shops to see what you like.

We got the simplicity car seat, we had it for dd1 and didn't have any worries with the car seat at all. We got a deal on pramworld which was a really good deal so seat didn't work out that expensive

MrsH497 · 18/11/2019 19:09

We love the pioneer in JL limited edition as well. Currently deciding between the maxi cosi pebble or the simplicity car seat as well

Sprinkles07032020 · 19/11/2019 09:28

Thank you everyone. I think I'm going to ring all my local John Lewis stores and see if any of them have the limited edition in store before we order.

I have the Silvercross Surf in the same colour + Simplicity and I love it!!
Our most-used combination ended up being Simplicity on top of the chassis/wheels. I simply take her out of the car with the seat and it's nice and compact for walking around shops. DD is 11 months and I'm actually having problems now weaning her off the Simplicity. She prefers the car seat for walks as well because she lies a bit more curled up. The pram seat is a bit too steep and she refuses to stay inside for long.

Silvercross quality is pretty amazing, and here are some things which I never actually realised were there for ages!

  • There are pull-out sunshade flaps, ventilation and light holes in the pram hood. These can be secured with magnets.
  • There's a discreet box in the back of the Simplicity which you can open to adjust the height of the straps.
  • There's also a foam wedge under the seat for newborns. I took this away when DD was around 6 months.
  • Not sure if this is Pioneer or just Surf When folding the chassis, you have to lock the wheels, press the button on the handle and raise it upwards/forwards. Do not let go of the handle because it can crash forwards onto the floor in this position. I knew this based on watching videos but I noticed loads of dings in the silver bulb (suspect that DH has let the handle fly more than once =_=).
