Baby Bump stops moving when I shine flashlight

Ok so may be a silly question and I’m hoping I’m being paranoid!
I’m 27+5 with very active baby girl... I have read on the apps and weekly articles that at this stage baby should react if you shine a flashlight on your tummy..
My baby completely stops moving when there’s light... is this normal?
Has this happened to anybody else and have they gone on to have babies with healthy eyes?
Even writing it I sound mental but it’s bothered me a bit! :(

If she’s moving then stops, surely this is a reaction?

Probably just startled by the light so goes quiet they'll have no idea what light even is yet mine does this too when i lift my shirt up he goes still because there's more light coming onto my stomach and he can see it somewhat

My second had no reaction when I shone the light on her, she's the kind of baby that sits and takes it all in so was probably just watching it!

If she couldn’t see, she wouldn’t know it was being shined on her would she? Stopping is a reaction!
I have three children and never shined a torch on my bump so no experience sorry.

She is probably stopping to try and figure out what it is. Sounds like a clever baby ☺️

Falafel19 · 15/11/2019 13:35

She's reacting so by staying still presumably looking at it (as much as she can), I'm curious to know what sort of reaction you were expecting?!

Elbeagle · 15/11/2019 14:15

Presumably if the baby is asleep they won’t see the light shining anyway?

Yes, this happened to me, I am 25 weeks. I don't know this is normal or not.
