10th centile at 28 weeks

I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant and baby has been scanned as small, showing up as on the 10th centile line of the growth chart.

This is my second baby. My first son was born at 36 weeks by EMCS due to preeclampsia. It was found he was small due to my placenta failing so they wanted to get him out ASAP.

Could it be the onset of preeclampsia again?

Hi! I have pre eclampsia too and our last Scan was at 28 weeks(I’m scanned every two weeks) we were on the 15th, but the scan we had yesterday at 30 weeks she had grown a good bit and is now on the 25th they said. I was very surprised and a bit of me wonders was it done correctly in the other scan, but at the same time it also shows they can take a spurt! I have active pre eclampsia since early on in the pregnancy and am on a good bit of medication so we expected her to be on the small side! Not sure if my experience is any help but wanted to share anyway in case!!!

It could be the start of pre-eclampsia or it could just be that the baby is small, your older child may have been small even without the pre-eclampsia. I'm pregnant with my third and all have been 10th centile at that stage but no issues. Some people have small babies, some small babies are caused by problems but not all.
