Hi everyone, I'm new here and have been scrolling for advice but cant find any as of yet. So I'm aware that this sounds quite ridiculous but the feelings not going away. I have been on and off the pill (not very good at taking it) but did pregnancy tests in September as I was feeling extra emotional - these were negative. 3 weeks ago, I started to feel flutters/movement in my stomach, so read online and passed it off as wind/indigestion ect, however this has kept on happening so took home tests and all negative, then went to the doctor and had bloods that were negative. My periods have been all over the place but still coming, however the movement sensation is still there and I can visibly see this on the outside of my stomach - has anyone ever experienced this at all? please help! xx

Op I'm sorry to say but if you were pregnant you wouldn't feel the baby so early on. I've only just started to feel mine at 21 weeks. I would go back to your gp

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 14/11/2019 19:58

You would only see movement very late in pregnancy, for a first pregnancy it's normal to not even feel the flutter still 16-20 weeks, and you only see the kicks when your in the latter 3rd trimester usually.

I would say from the urine and blood tests that the likelihood you are pregnant is small, but you should speak to the GP and see what they suggest.

That sounds worrying! So would you have missed a period in September?
I think that would make you approximately 4 weeks pregnant in September so approximately 8-9 in October and now about 11 weeks?
You would not see external movements from a baby at that early stage (it’s much much later on).
I have no idea what movements could be caused by.
How long ago did the doctor do blood tests?
Were they just for pregnancy?
Do you have other symptoms (of anything including pregnancy)?

Boymummy3 · 14/11/2019 20:00

Ive felt flutters/types of movements when i havnt been pregnant before it laterally could be anything probally wind.

The thing is if you was pregnant esp enough to be able to feel something moving the blood tests would of picked up hcg even if the preg tests didnt.

I think you need to see gp for tests other than pregnancy if you can see your belly moveing although what type of movements do you mean as if you lie down and concentrate enough your belly pulsates like a heartbeat ive noticed this in the past and definitely wasnt pregnant xx

Hi all, thanks for your advice so far. I would be thinking that I would be around 18 week which would coincide with me taking a morning after pill. I went to the doctor last week and he tested for pregnancy and about 5 other different things all came back negative. I feel like I'm going mad, but partner has been telling me its wind for the last few weeks but has seen it tonight. The movement is in different places each time.

I know this sounds awful but please don’t hate me. If your pregnancy tests have come back negative and you can feel definitive movement it could possibly be an unwelcome space invader (TMI warning).... a worm? I know, gross, but that’s the only thing I can think of that could cause you to feel movement.

Sizeofalentil · 14/11/2019 20:26

Could you pay for a private scan? You can get them for £40ish on groupon

CAG12 · 14/11/2019 20:26

Sorry if this sounds harsh - but pregnancy tests and blood tests came back negative, it means you're not likely to be pregnant im afraid.

Longfox · 14/11/2019 20:40

Google 'phantom pregnancy', they aren't common but they do happen, you get many pregnancy symptoms including the movements. Hope you find the cause soon!

peachgreen · 14/11/2019 20:47

I think it's unlikely you're pregnant but it's not impossible. Try doing a test with diluted urine.

thatwasMauijustmessingaround · 14/11/2019 20:54

I agree with the PP. probably not pregnant but on the off chance, you can have too much hormone in your urine that it "breaks" the test & gives a false negative.

I know somebody this happened to when pregnant with twins. They never had a positive test.

Diluting urine can get it to show up. I'd do a load of cheap tests with different levels of dilution just to see.

NemophilistRebel · 14/11/2019 20:57

Only way to be 100% sure is a scan and you won’t have to guess.

Wanderer1 · 14/11/2019 21:01

I had something similar over a number of months and I got very freaked out. I could see and feel movements but it was just wind and muscle spasms, probably associated with stress and undiagnosed IBS.
If you were 18 weeks you'd be able to physically feel your uterus as well as get positive bloods.

Brenna24 · 14/11/2019 21:02

I get twitching muscles that feel a lot like pregnancy flutters and you can see my abdomen moving from the outside. There are other things that it could be.
