Induction time

Hi ladies, had a sweep today and if nothing happens I'm booked in for induction next week at 39+6 due to babies size. I've been told to go in at 8pm and I'm wondering if my hubby will be told to stay or just to go home at this point? It's my 2nd baby so things could potentially move along quicker. Has anyone had to go in at a similar time?

I'm booked for induction on Monday at 8pm and have the same fear. This is my third baby and my last two labours were very fast (about two hours max) so if they send DH home I'm worried he'll miss it!

At my hospital it's 8am for first time mums and 8pm for subsequent ones, which seems the wrong way round to me,

Yeah it does seem odd doesn't it given that 2nd time is usually quicker. I went in at 2pm on a Monday for my 1st baby and she wasn't born till Wednesday morning so was a long process.

I've never been induced before so I'm a bit scared, my friend was induced at 8pm and they sent her DH home, her baby arrived 1.5 hours after the start of the induction so he nearly missed it!

I'm having a sweep tomorrow so I'm hoping something happens, but I'm only 37+2 so I don't think it will.

Ive never had an induction but surely they wont send your husband home as with inductions they cant gauge how long they will take? Best thing to do is ring up and ask them just to double check x

At my hospital they definitely do send the husbands home, I was on a ward a couple of weeks ago with a few women being induced and the dads all got sent home at about 9pm.

Husbands got sent home on my ward when I was induced, I think approx 9-10 pm then back in at 8? If you progress however you're allowed to call them back in as delivery suite times are different x

Hi OP, my husband was allowed to stay with me. When I was induced I went straight to the delivery suite and remained there until baby was born. I didn't know that some people are induced on the ward and then sent to the delivery suite when things start progressing. If this is what happens to you I suspect your husband can stay on the ward during visiting hours and then stay with you 24/7 in the delivery suite.

Yeah I've been told I'm going to a ward and not to the delivery suite. I assume they will try with the pessaries first to try get things moving before putting me on the drip, although the pessaries did nothing for my first pregnancy.
