Hey, a just looking for other people’s experience. I’m 39 weeks pregnant and my blood pressure has been creeping up. Went to see the midwife today and was told it’s still higher than previous but not so high that she would want to send me to hospital today.
I’ve to go back again on Friday and if it’s still high they might induce me. Has this happened to anyone else?! Were you induced that day?! Just trying to prepare for all eventualities. I’m thinking i’ll put my hospital bags in the car just incase they send me straight to hospital. Is there anything else i should be doing in the mean time?!

TIA

My blood pressure didn't appear to creep up. I went in for a sweep at 40+5 and they took my BP. It was around 140/something (can't remember, it was a few years ago). They told me that if it didn't go down I would need to be induced. Baby was monitored also and he was absolutely happy in there. They kept me in for a few hours and the top reading went down to around 132. They told me I could go home but wanted me back in the morning to test BP again and make a decision from there. The same happened again and they sent me home and asked me to go in the following day. Thankfully I went into labour that evening so wasn't induced. I was however not allowed a water birth as I had to have an IV for my high blood pressure during labour. I would take your bags with you just in case they deem your readings too high. I'm afraid there really isn't anything else you can do apart from relax. Hope your wait isn't much longer.

I had high BP towards the end, mine went up to 150ish over 100. I was put on a low dose of medication for 2 weeks and booked for induction at 39 weeks. Was weaned off the tablets after birth and no long term effects for me or baby.
