I am exhausted

I am 25+4 and I don't think I've ever felt so exhausted. I had just over 9 hours sleep, not a hugely manic day and I'm laying down in bed because my body says enough is enough. Thank god I was off work today but I am already dreading tomorrow.

Is the rest of pregnancy going to be like this? My DP doesn't understand how I'm so tried (neither do I) and that's no fault of his.

Any advice on how to perk myself up?

Might be worth getting your iron levels checked. The midwife will do this at your 28 week appointment, but maybe see if your GP can do a test earlier for you. I felt like this for most of my 20s weeks and once I started taking a liquid iron supplement I felt soooooo much better. I physically couldn’t get though the day before and now I don’t need any day naps at all and feel fine. Worth a try.

Get your iron levels checked lady!

Sending hugs OP

@Ilovethekitties @Maybbabi thanks for the heads up. Both my mother & grandmother are anaemic so this could well be a reason. I'll get booked in!

I find it comes and goes (36 weeks here). Some days I had bundles of energy, others none at all. I also find if I have a few active days, I might "pay" for it a few days later.

Hey! I’m 25Wk and feel the same! I posted the other day asking if it was normal, because I felt so awful but my iron is fine.

I find I’m okay if I keep going, but will need lots of rest the following day. Don’t be too hard on yourself x

Sweetooth92 · 13/11/2019 19:09

I’ve been the same since about 6 weeks. Now 33 and no better despite now on iron tablets and vitamin D. Was nothing like this with my first! This time I’ve just been floored with exhaustion and sickness

PrincessSarene · 13/11/2019 19:13

I’ve felt this exhausted for most of my pregnancy and my iron levels are also fine. It’s worth talking to your GP and getting a full panel blood test done - this was how my underactive thyroid was picked up (and my energy levels improved once we got the medication levels sorted). It would also pick up any other issues such as diabetes. Might be worth considering vitamin deficiency as well?
