Booking in appointment whiston hospital

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone could help me. Last time I was pregnant I had to phone whiston hospital directly and book my initial booking in appointment with them. This time I phoned my gp for that number and the receptionist didn't seem to know what I meant, she was saying she could milk me in with the community midwife. I explained that I thought I had to have a booking in appointment with the hospital first and she seemed to think it had changed and I only work through the gp midwife now and has booked me in for one of their 20 mins slots. Now I have a feeling this is isn't right but wondered if anyone on here had recently booked in with whiston and could clarify this for me. I'm considering just phoning my gp again later and hoping to speak to another receptionist and see if I get different advice. I just remember the booking in appointment takes a lot longer than a 20 min slot. Thank you for any help you can offer xx

Hey im under whiston hospitsl too. My previous 2 pregnancies the booking was doing via the hospital.. this time it isnt they have changed things you now go through your community midwife at your gp office.
So the only appointments I've actually had at the hospital is dating scan/20 week scan and a gtt test but that obviously doesnt apply to everyone. Every other app ive had with my community midwife at my gp surgey. My initial Booking app only topl around 20 mins too x

I suppose it makes more sense to do it all with the community midwife, but it is confusing when it suddenly changes Smile

They probally still do booking app at the hospital but majoirty of GP surgerys have community midwives so probally why most just go through them instead of hospital x

I honestly have no idea because I have no clue what I'm doing haha
All I have been told is that I'll have a booking appointment and that is it. A little out of my depth and a little bit terrified lol
