Losing my plug

Morning all. 37+4 and since about 10pm last night I've been losing my mucous plug. I've had two huge pieces and then just very sticky, gluey wipes after going to the loo. Anyone had this as an indicator that labour is closing in?

Ooh it's exciting!

Yes, mine started to go and then I had a small bleed. It was still a couple of days (and a sweep!) before I started contracting though.

Good luck!

@LatteLover12 ooh exciting!! I'm a bit nervous about going to work now in case I go into labour at my desk 😂 wishful thinking though I'd imagine!

Bith times, I lost mine up to 2 weeks before I went into labour. It mught still be a while for you yet!

Andersonx3 · 13/11/2019 07:59

@CupCupGoose I've read for some women it could be hours/days but for others weeks so it's hard to tell! I'm having some cramps/pains low down in bump, have done since around 7pm last night but that could be anything so trying not to get my hopes up!!

Well that does sound promising! Keep us updated!

Sounds like it could be! Good luck op, let us know 👍

Andersonx3 · 13/11/2019 09:25

@CupCupGoose @99GreenBalloons I'm skeptical but called the midwife just to explain, she's said the losing of the plug is fine and the amount I'm losing is totally normal, however has mentioned it may be best to pop a pad on a stay home today to monitor everything, so I think I will. I've felt the need to empty my bowels a lot this morning, could this be related at all? I'm usually a once a day kind of girl but not today! I feel utterly clueless! Blush

Omg I would not be going into work! When are you due to start mat leave? Good
Luck x

Mine went a good ten days before baby came!

MellowMelly · 13/11/2019 11:54

I lost mine at 8.30pm and was on the labour ward by 10pm. Baby arrived the next morning at 8.04am.

It’s definitely different for everyone!

Andersonx3 · 13/11/2019 12:12

@Gettingonabitnow I didn't go in, just to err on the side of caution! I'm due to start Friday at 37+6 but had every intention of going in until next Wednesday but maybe not now!!

@MellowMelly @FunOnTheBeach20 definitely different for everyone then!!
