Dull ache left ovary at 5 weeks

I am five weeks today and have a dull ache around where I think my left ovary is. I am getting very very anxious about an ectopic pregnancy and starting to work myself up into a bit of a state. I have no other symptoms, can anyone give me any reassurance this is a normal symptom? I have an early scan booked but not til a week on Friday and not sure I can cope like this til then.

Hi I had similar pains. Our called my midwife team who advised me to go in and havery a talk with them they did a scan few blood test everything was fine. I would definitely call the team who you are under even if it's just for reasurance. Don't leave it. Probably nothing but there is nothing worse than worrying if the problem can be solved. Good luck with your pregnancy hope you are okFlowers

Thanks for your reply, it's good to hear of a similar situation that wasn't anything serious. Unfortunately I am not really under anyone yet, just the GP as it's too early in this area. I probably won't be booked in til I am 10 weeks

Speak with your gp or give yout local epu a call as it could be ectopic which shouldnt really be left... anyone can say its normal and that they have had similar etc and all has been ok as pains and aches during early pregnancy are very common but they dont always end up to be fine for everyone so you do need to get checked out asap xx

I would go to my go thenow if you are not under midwife care aservices you do need to get checked
Like I said I was OK. But it's very important to be checked by a professional please dot leave it I'm not a doctor but your doctor will be able happy to help .

I have the same dull aching over my right ovary... almost constant. I'm five weeks too. Hopefully its nothing

Obviously get checked out if you are really worried but bear in mind that every pregnancy has an ovarian cyst on the ovary you ovulated from (it’s what keeps the pregnancy going until the placenta takes over and the pregnancy can’t survive without it) so it could also be a ‚normal‘ pain.

Thanks everyone. I can't do anything today as I have literally no childcare for my two year old if I need to seek further help but I will go to the GP in the morning if I am still concerned

Please contact your epu. They generally scan u and take boods. May be nothing but in my case was ectopic. If it gets any worse then take yourself to A&E if out if hours

Fingers crossed its nothing xx

Thank you everyone for taking the time to comment. Unfortunately, the ache sort of spread out and I started to have a bleed last night. I don't think it is localised enough any more to suggest an ectopic but I do think I am miscarrying. I think I am too early to even have a scan to confirm this but I will still go to my gp this morning to discuss if I should do anything. Thank you again for all your support.
