Hi I've been having reduced movements so the hospital gave me a scan today and said he's fine the blood flow to placenta was okay and said his weight is 3lb12.
Then she put all the measurements in to the computer thing and called another lady in and they both said they don't understand what's going on as according to the centile chart he's dropped from the 18th I think to the 10th? They both was confused and I'm now confused on what this means and they've asked me to come back in 3 weeks at 35 weeks Confused.
I'm really worried now what this could mean etc has anyone been through this before?

How far along are you? Maybe give your midwife a call to ask her to explain but basically looks like baby isnt growing on the same level as it was, if it wad a massive concern i doubt they would wait 3 weeks to have you back in but as baby is fine and blood flow is fine then all should be ok. X

I'm not sure why they were both confused; it's not unusual for babies to go up and down their centile lines, and as sonographers they will see that day in and day out, so their response seems a bit weird. It's not that much of a drop and measurements aren't exact so they'll want to do a growth scan again just to check baby is still growing as should be. Growth scans need to be a couple of weeks apart at least.

This is what has worried me because the lady has seen me through all three of my pregnancies and for her to say she's never come across it before it's puzzled me. The baby has just fallen right down but appears fine on the actual scan and with the reduced movements constant headaches etc I'm worried it's hiding something Confused

Fetal and fundal measurements are very inaccurate science even with all the fancy ultrasound so don't worry yourself too much about it if the baby seems otherwise healthy. Talk through your concerns with your midwife if you are unclear.
