Bleeding but still pregnant?

So confused, please let me know what you think!

I had some faint positive tests about ten days ago, started to get excited but then AF arrived so I thought that's me out. AF finished so I tested again to make sure the tests were back to negative before continuing TTC. To me the tests look like they are getting darker - am I going mad? 🙈 The photo is of tests from Sunday, Monday, then today. (All FMU)

Definitely darker maybe it was implantation take an frer today and then 2 days later and if it gets darker ur defo still pregnant

startube · 12/11/2019 09:59

Thanks for your reply. I'll have to pick up some frer!! What's making me not believe it is it didn't seem like IB, it was like my normal period and lasted nearly a week 😬

Let me know how u get on but looking at the bottom cheapie a digital week indicator might even show now too just make sure with a digital it is fmu as weeks can mess up if it's not

TwittleBee · 12/11/2019 13:44

How far along are you? Might be best to arrange a GP appointment so they can get you seen by the EPU for an early scan to check where the bleeding came from, could very well just be implantation. It tends to be 50:50 with bleeding in early pregnancy - I have had it go either way. Good luck. Also, just because you do start MC doesnt mean you will get negative pregnancy test to indicate that - took me a month post MC to stop getting a clear positive test.

startube · 12/11/2019 14:13

I would be around six weeks.

When I've had miscarriages in the past the pregnancy tests started to fade and gradually went back to negative, and those pregnancies were further on. After your miscarriage did your positive tests get gradually fainter? Or stay strong for a month?

I was getting them stronger and stronger- my body hadn't realised I had MCed. Classic MMC.

It's also worth getting checked for other stuff that might threaten your pregnancy, bleeding can be fine and normal but I always think it's just better to go get a scan to check?

TwittleBee · 12/11/2019 16:07

Not saying that's happening to you at all btw! Just sharing my opinion that I think it's always better to go get checked. Even if you know you are MCing it's best to get checked over by MW / DR - that's what my Dr told me last time when I said the previous time I just let it all occur at home and didn't bother telling anyone

Keyboard91 · 13/11/2019 07:14

Same as above poster re lines getting stronger. I had a bleed that was pretty much like a period from 4+3 to 5+1 and lines got a little stronger each day after the bleed until at 6+4 they suddenly turned negative and then I passed everything a week later which was confirmed as being less than 6 weeks by a midwife. Hopefully yours isn’t this though and could be implantation as has been mentioned.

10 days for most people will turn a faint line into a blazing one.

At 6 weeks most EPUs will scan you for bleeding so might be worth getting checked so you know? Or keep tracking with FRERs as they are pretty reliable and comparable and pick up small changes in HCG (up or down).

Good luck OP xx

Thanks for your replies. I keep expecting the lines to get fainter and then I would be able to accept that I've lost the pregnancy. But this morning the test looks darker again, is it just my eyes??

I'm going to see the doctor today but I just keep feeling so anxious wondering what's going on 😔

OP posts:
TwittleBee · 13/11/2019 11:23

It certainly looks darker and everything really may be completely fine! But surely that should be a blazing positive by now? But then those cheapie tests are know for being a bit shit, for me they didnt pick up a positive line until well past my AF due date! Hopefully everything is all okay, I hope that so much for you all is good. I am glad you are seeing your GP though, hopefully you will get a lovely early scan. I'll be thinking of you x

startube · 13/11/2019 11:27

Thank you for your reply Twittlebee! I've got some FRER now so will test with one of them tomorrow morning. Hopefully I'll be sent for a scan tomorrow too, so will let you know how I get on! X

Doctor just said to call the midwife 😩

TwittleBee · 13/11/2019 20:06

Ah well yeah if you have the MW number do that for sure. Or if you have your local EPU number you could give them a call.

I've always gone to my doctor before I've been given a MW contact

Here is the FRER from today

I think it's worth getting a scan. Do you have any pain at all? Just worried incase its Ectopic.

But a line is a line they say right?

startube · 14/11/2019 09:14

Got hold of the EPU and they've told me to come in on Monday 😬

OP posts:
startube · 14/11/2019 09:15

I had a lot of pain and bleeding but it's all stopped now. I honestly thought it was another miscarriage and that was that, but it's only since then that the lines are getting darker so I find it strange!!

OP posts:
startube · 14/11/2019 09:15

I've been worrying about ectopic too but I don't seem to have any other symptoms so hopefully it's not

Frer looks very positive so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I had brown bleeding for the first 8 weeks of my second pregnancy and constantly thought I was about to lose my baby but she is here now and 17 weeks old.

Im keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you xxx

KronksSpinachPuffs · 14/11/2019 09:28

I've got my fingers crossed for you too OP! Flowers

Twinmummy2018 · 14/11/2019 09:32

When i was pregnant with my twins i had a lot of bleeding throughout my pregnancy and they are now healthy 5 year olds!

Try not to worry, even though i know its hard and wait for your midwife appointment. If i remember correctly they wont be able to see anything on an internal scan until around 7 or 8 weeks. But they may do a blood test for you to confirm your hcg is rising.

Wishing you the best!

custardbear · 14/11/2019 09:34

Fingers crossed for you - I had bleeding in pregnancies and it's not that uncommon apparently so hope yours is fine

TwittleBee · 14/11/2019 09:35

You'll be about 7 weeks then wont you? By monday? That's a good time to get an early scan as they'll be able to see fetal pole and a heart beat by then.

I've been having bleeding on and off so far, they think it could a cervical issue so I shall be referred to a cervix specialist. I think that's also partly because the bleeding in my last pregnancy caused premature birth of my son so they're being extra cautious

TalkingIntoTheEther · 14/11/2019 10:34

this happened to me, I had implantation bleeding and cramps that lasted 6 days and was really heavy/painful, presumed it was my period (even used tampons, ooops!) but took a test when it finished as I had lots of pregnancy symptoms, and it was positive. I had a bit of too-ing and fro-ing with the GP who insisted i couldnt be pregnant after that amount of bleeding, but in the end i had a scan at 6 weeks which showed the start of a pregnancy.

the midwife at the scan said although its rare sometimes implantation can disrupt a larger blood vessel which causes much heavier bleeding than 'normal' implantation. They had me back at 7.5 weeks to check the progress and all was fine. I had a totally uneventful pregnancy, no further bleeding at all, and DC is now 4.

Good luck OP!
