Private baby scan?

Hi all,
Has anyone had a private early scan? My husband and I are thinking about booking one just for some peace of mind. I'm 7 weeks 1 day according to my calculations but I have first midwife appointment tomorrow. Would love to hear thoughts on this! Smile

I had one last week at 7 weeks it was amazing baby looked like a little blob but we saw a heart beat and i got pictures and a little video of the heart beating sent to me which i cant stop watching, ours was with babybond i would say go for it the reassurance was worth it.

Yes I would book it. Without adding doom and gloom but mine showed jo heartbeat despite the week before having one. If I never went for the scan at nine weeks I wouldn't have found out until 12 weeks potentially as I had no symptoms whatsoever which would have been even harder for me to deal with. This experience has meant if I am pregnant in future I will have as many extra scans as I can for peace of mind. Sorry to share negative story but just giving you my real experience; as scan reduces worry IMO

I would go for it, I had ivf so had a scan at 6 weeks but my overies were squashing it so went back at 7 weeks then had a massive bleed at 8 weeks and went for a check up everything was fine and another scan at 9 weeks when I was discharged from clinic I know no one needs that many scans but it's very reassuring xx

Go for it. I had one at 16 weeks and 25 weeks. I was really anxious my whole pregnancy and it really helped reassure me. More often than not it's good news - try to remember that. But if it's bad news then at least you now earlier.
