Baby measuring small at 34 weeks, being closely monitored..how worried should i be?

I had a check up this week and during the ultrasound it appears that the growth on the abdominal circumference has tailed off (all other growth - femur, head etc was fine). The doc did a doppler scan - all blood flows were fine and then a CGT scan also to monitor the fetal heartbeat, again fine.

I was told to monitor fetal movement and if i noticed a reduction to go in and have another trace done. I did that this afternoon (as bub was quiet today) and although doc is saying trace is fine, I have to go in tomorrow and have another one just to be on the safe side.

Am sure that if there was any cause for concern, he would admit me immediately but I am feeling worried.

Has anyone else any experience with baby/ u/s measurements measuring small suddenly?

hi dal21 - have they actually done a proper scan? (like at the 20 week appt?)

with DD1 the mw said she hadn't grown in 6 weeks and petrified me.... said she was measuring 23 weeks at 32 weeks . she called another mw and a doctor and they all agreed.
needless to say, after 3 sleepless nights and a lot of tears i insisted on a scan and the baby was fine - just lying sideways so they were measuring her completely wrong.

the same happened with DD2... i obv have a lot of room for them to lie hammock-like

so, try not to worry, it's good that they're keeping a close eye and as you say you're at 34 weeks so it would be ok if the baby had to come out now anyway.

Hi - yup have had plenty of scans. My obs is the sonographer too so most of my antenatal appts he has popped me on to have a look. Doppler scan is fine today, bub moving lots - next growth scan is week weds. We both hope the scan with the low ab circ is simply a blip. Am feeling heaps better - just have to wait and see.
