Hi guys, I'm 13 weeks pregnant and in the middle of the night I saw red blood when I wiped. I'm really worried. I put a pad in on nothing on the pad a nothing the past couple of wees I've had when I've wiped. I've managed to troll the internet and found a scan for 11am today. Has anybody else been through anything like this? :( xx

Wishing you best of luck with your scan. I can't answer your question with my own experience at 13 weeks, sadly at 10/11 weeks my bleeds have always been MC. But that isn't always the case, nobody on here can tell you what it means either way but I hope everything is ok.

Have you had your 12 week scan yet ?
Good luck for your scan today !

MockingJay27 · 10/11/2019 09:45

I had spotting at 9 weeks, 15 weeks and 21 weeks. Was found to be cervical ectropian which is common and pretty harmless. Always get any bleeding checked out but try not to jump to worse case. Chances are your ok xx

I was bleeding at 13/14 weeks - started out as spotting and then got pretty bad (felt like loads of blood). A scan revealed it came from the bottom edge of the placenta which was v close to the cervix and partially peeling off. I was told to take it easy, and the bleeding gradually stopped.

Another reason you could be spotting is thrush, or some kind of an irritation of the cervix.

Good luck with your scan!

Have you spoken to the early pregnancy unit/gynae ward at the hospital you are booked at?

tacosplease · 10/11/2019 10:41

I have everything crossed for you OP - the fact the bleeding has subsided is definitely a positive sign. Let us know how it goes x

@tacosplease thank you! I just don't understand where that bit of blood came from! Xxx

@sredwards could it be UTI. I had a red bleed (very little) at 16 weeks. It seems to be because I had uti and cleared up with antibiotics.

sredwards · 10/11/2019 14:07

@fafffaffmorefaff what were you're symptoms other than the bleeding? They only sort of symptom I've had is some irritation like itching at nighttime xxxx

I had bleeding at 7 weeks and 13.weeks too and I have a lovely 8 year old now. The midwife told me it corresponded when I was due for my periods and sometimes the body just syncs itself into releasing blood at this time. So weird but I had no more. Bleeding then.

sredwards · 11/11/2019 09:05

@ballsdeep that's reassuring. I hoped it was around the time my period was due but when I checked my period diary my period was due over 1 week ago x I've had some remanence of dilute pinkish blood on tissue when I've wiped this morning. I hope and pray this is the last of it. Xxx

It's so scary and horrible but your scan was fine so fingers crossed that's the end of it. Xxx

Moonstone12 · 11/11/2019 10:16

I had spotting yesterday at 15 weeks. I called the midwives who got me in and checked me over and because of my blood group I had to have an anti d injection.

Always worth speaking to a midwife for them to decide whether you need to be seen. They haven't scanned me or listened to heartbeat but I was feeling movements while in hospital so I'm not too worried. Spotting seems to have stopped now too thank god.

Glad to hear everything was ok with your scan x

PixieDustt · 11/11/2019 10:42

Glad to hear everything was okay! Smile
I had bright red blood at 12 weeks which lasted about 2 days.
Luckily everything was fine but there was no reason for it. The sonographer and midwife said sometimes it can just happen but always get checked over.
Didn't have any bleeding for the rest of my pregnancy.
