Has anyone had suspected hyperemesis and found that cyclizine really helped?? Was prescribed it by my doctor yesterday after not being able to keep food or water down & today I feel soo much better already! This morning I did feel slightly nauseous but no morning run to the bathroom or constant heaving & by this afternoon I felt like a new woman, barely any sickness at all! Has anyone else had this? I'm wondering whether I've tricked my brain into thinking they're working so quickly but I don't care cause it seems to be working 🤣

Severe nausea kicked in for me about 2 weeks ago (no vomiting but constant, 24/7, intense nausea). I couldn't eat or sleep because of it so went to the GP who prescribed cyclizine. I took it 3 times a day for 3 days and felt it done very little for me to be honest so stopped taking it. However, I've felt 75% better over the past week so not sure if it was the cyclizine or just my hormones levelling out a bit. Glad it's working for you tho! X

I was prescribed cyclizine for HG at 10 weeks. It worked brilliantly initially but the last 10 days I was worse than ever ended up in hospital dehydrated so now got cyclizine and prochlorperazine which has really helped.

My hyperemesis started around week five and was diagnosed by my doctor very quickly. I went back and forth to the doctor for weeks and worked my way through six different drugs. Cyclizine did nothing for me. The one which did help was ondansetron. I've had it in both tablet form and via injection after being admitted to hospital for severe dehydration and high levels of keytones. Advice from my doctor and the hospital was if the drug doesn't work after 24hrs, it's not the right one for you and to come back. Unfortunately it was not a magic drug. It reduced the vomitting but ultimately I just had to wait out the debilitating nausea, signed off work for 8 weeks. I'm 19 weeks now and able to function. It's worth looking at the pregnancy sickness support website. They have forums and you can contact them for support. I found hyperemesis to be utterly miserable, debilitating and it made me feel very low. Worth going back to your doctor. Good luck.

Cyclizine worked wonders for me.

It took a few days to get into myself and take full effect but once it did I was like a new woman!

Glad that cyclizine has worked, didn't have any effect with me and actually made me feel worse, I switched to prochlorperazine yesterday and feel like a new woman. There's a HG group on here and they have loads of great advice

Please come join us in the Hyperemesis thread! It’s great the cyclizine is working really, it’s a first line drug & often doesn’t help those suffering severely. So be pleased it is! There are a wide range of anti-sickness out there, going up in strength as you might need!
