Did anybody bleed or spot a few times in their 1st and 2nd trimester?

I'm 15+5 days now.

Its getting me down now, thought once I'd hit 12 weeks it would stop. 😥

I had pink bleeding/spotting at 5+4 days had a scan at 6+2 saw heartbeat no reason for bleed but did find out I had a bicornuate uterus.

Had some stringy spotting at 7+6 had a scan next day couldn't find no reason for it again

Had Tiny bit of red spotting at 10+4 MW put it down to coughing, no scan.

More pink spotting st 11+5 MW said wait for 12 week scan.

Had 12 week scan at 13+4 no problems found baby measuring 6 days ahead of scan at 8 weeks (measured 7+1 but going off this scan I was actually 8 weeks) baby was very active

More spotting last weekend at 14+5 3 times thought the day but it was literally just pink spots in the toilet paper. Had a sickness bug spoke to midwife said not to worry probably from straining.

More spotting yesterday at 15+5 pink/red in he early hours about 4am, midwife said keep eye on it. Bit more blood at about 4:30pm this time was a little bit more than I've had before was about three wipes worth and was brown, not had brown before any other time.

Phoned gp who advised rest and booked me in for a scan monday morning.

Anybody experienced something like this and had a good outcome? I'm so stressed , going to feel like a long few days. If everything is ok I need to know why this keeps happening. 😥

Hello,

I had continuous bleeding from 7 to 12 weeks and was told I had a bleed at the top of my womb it was very worrying for us as you just feel like it goes against the nature of pregnancy and every time I went to the loo there was blood. Whilst in hospital one not night I met another patient who said she was bleeding until 25 weeks but now has a very stroppy teenager, it reassuring to hear some positive stories. Doctor told me as long as there are no clots try not to worry, I hope it stops soon for you x

Hi, I had lots of spotting up until about mid second trimester and worried continuously about it! I also had extra scans for reassurance and was always told that if there are no clots or if the bleeding doesn't get heavier that it was ok but I do feel it's better to get it checked. I did find that I would bleed more if I was overdoing things, eg I went on holiday, did lots of walking or when I was very busy I found I had more spotting. Anyway it settled down and I now have a healthy 8 week old baby! Sorry that's not much help but I totally understand how worrying it is and I hope it settles down for you x

Thank you both ladies.

I wish my midwife seemed more concerned about this bleeding than she is. I've only been checked out once after it and that was the first time it happened. Everytime since it's always "wait and see"i paid for a private scan the second time myself. And then obviously waited for dating scan after the other spotting. But obviously I've had spotting since and I really had to fight friday for her to take notice, she still didn't and preceded to tell me she's on annual leave next week. That's why I ended up ringing gp when i had more on friday evening.

Tomorrow cant come quick enough. I feel sick with worry xxx

I had brown bleeding twice around 15-16 weeks with current pregnancy. The doctor said brown colour means it's old blood and probably nothing to worry about. There are lots of little blood vessels in your uterus and vagina which get bigger during pregnancy; it's easy to get a small bleed and mostly it's harmless. Have you had sex recently? That can cause it.

I'm now at 29 weeks and no bleeding since. Hopefully you'll be fine too - hope you get the reassurance you need. Thanks

Pombears12 · 10/11/2019 21:38

Thank you. I'm hoping its nothing. It's the 6th time I've had spotting/bleeding now since being pregnant. So stressful.

Uh I had sex tuesday morning but bleeding didn't start till friday. On the other occasions I've had bleeding none of them has been he same day as I'd had sex, either one or more days after it. Seems to be completely random although always seems to be on a Thursday, friday or Saturday.

Yeah I had red blood friday morning and then brown blood in the afternoon. All other times jve had it it has been pink/red. I'm just so worried about baby and need to know why its happening all the time xxx

Oh yes, as per last post I was also told each time it was probably just a small burst blood vessel and that some people are more prone to them. My midwife wasn't worried about me either! But I thought maybe that was a good sign. I completely understand how you feel tho and I know it's hard not to worry but please try to stay positive and just look after yourself xx

HI everyone I saw this post and was looking for some advice
I am 8 weeks pregnant we saw the HB of 89 at 7 weeks - my progesterone has been low the whole time :( but they have given me suppositories that I have taken for a few weeks I have some brown spotting - they told me what is was from - I had a MC in June- hard not to be scared... last time it was way different spotting and earlier- but still hard not to be nervous trying hard to stay positive and happy - have my next scan WED and im nervous -

TalkingIntoTheEther · 11/11/2019 19:15

ive had intermittent spotting during this pregnancy and ended up seeing a doctor at the antenatal unit who said (after a speculum exam) that i had cervical erosion/ectropian which sounds much scarier than it is - it doesnt actually men your cervix is eroding but rather it is very easily irritated so lots of things can cause spotting, such as thrush, bowl movements, sex etc. Im now 35 weeks and although the spotting has occurred throughout, I havent had any major issues in the pregnancy.

GrumpyHoonMain · 11/11/2019 19:16

I spotted in the first trimester. Was told by mw that as long as it wasn’t red or getting worse it was probably normal.

EPSpartyof3 · 11/11/2019 20:02

Oh okay thank you both that helps me a lot!!

ISmellBabies · 11/11/2019 20:08

I had continuous spotting from about 12-19 weeks. At first it was red and like a period kind of amount but later went more brown and less of it. I thought the worst at first, it's so scary to have bleeding when pregnant. I do think it's quite common though. Baby was absolutely fine btw, a real bobby dazzler! 😍

ISmellBabies · 11/11/2019 20:08

Argh, not spotting, bleeding.

Pombears12 · 11/11/2019 21:10

Thanks ladies.

Had my scan at EPU, explained I'd had a mixture of colour bleeding. Scanned me, only a quick one, couldn't find any reason for the bleeding at all. Told me to get refered again if it happens again and that I should have been checked out all the other times I had it. Except my midwife wont refer me, GP did this time. Xx

So relieved everything looked ok xxxx

@Pombears12 i’ve just found your thread. I have a bicornuate uterus and suffered a spontaneous miscarriage last year. Im pregnant again (7 wks) and have also been bleeding so scared its another miscarriage. I have been seen by EPU and there is a heart beat and baby is measuring ok. Can i ask if you had a successful pregnancy in the end?

Pombears12 · 13/02/2022 22:56

Hello.
