my last period however o do have Polycystic Ovaries so I’m hit and miss with my periods

I went for a scan and she could t find anything wi Th the normal scan and said your much earlier than 5/6 weeks so did a internal scan which showed a amniotic sac. She said the sac is in the right place and I am very much pregnant and have booked about her scan for two weeks to give the the yolk sac I think and fetal pole to come visible. I’m super super paranoid and really scared of a miscarriage.

Has anyone else ever been for a scan that early and what have they seen? They think I’m just under 5 weeks pregnant

I went for one at 6 weeks and all I could see was a tiny tiny dot try not to worry too much it's normal they couldn't find anything at this stage congrats on your pregnancy SmileFlowers

I had one at five weeks and all we could see was the black kidney bean shaped sac and a little white dot (yolk). It was internal as abdominal didn’t show anything.

At seven weeks, exactly two weeks later, we saw the fetus with a little flashing heartbeat!

Sounds totally normal for where you’re at in the pregnancy, do you have any cause for concern?

Hey I had a miscarriage about 3 years ago. And I'm just super paranoid now. x

Sounds normal for 5 weeks. In my experience scans only reassure you for a day, then O get paranoid again.... congratulations and good luck

I had a 5 week scan at an EPU. The doctor I spoke to said the machine used in a lot of private clinics were often not very good and she saw a lot of women sent to the NHS EPU to check where they found more evidence of a pregnancy. If you went to a private clinic this may be why. Please do not worry too much. It is insanely early to see much ❤️

I had a few losses before scan, at 4.5 weeks they saw a gestational sac, then at 5 weeks a yolk sac. Then at 6 weeks a fetal pole and yolk sac. It does make you very worried if you've had previous losses. I'm now 21 weeks pregnant. Good luck.

Yes had a scan at 4 weeks and nothing then at 5 and a few days and just a sac and what they thought was a haemtoma and next scan at 6+5 and it was twins with heartbeats :) ( all the scans were due to heavy bleeding) so try not to worry

In all of my pregnancies I've never seen a yolk sac before 5 weeks - just a gestational sac. For me, I've usually seen a yolk sac towards the end of 5 weeks and then a fetal pole at 6 weeks and a heart beat around 6.5 weeks. Wish you lots of luck Thanks

custardbear · 09/11/2019 07:35

I went at 5+6 and doctor told me sac measuring 5+1 no heart beat as too small

Went back four weeks later and all was great - he's 7 nowWink

I have an internal scan on Monday. I should be 7+3 by my lmp but EPAU put me at around 4 weeks last time I went in (based on my lmp I should have been 6 weeks). No idea how they can put me back 2 weeks! I’m not sure what they’ll see on Monday if I’m only in fact 5+3!

Izabela86 · 17/11/2019 14:21

Went for a scan today (I'm 5+2 today) due to some spotting yesterday and all that was seen was the sac and the yolk sac. Absolutely normal at this stage. Going for another scan in 2 weeks time (had a MMC earlier this year) so I'm also very anxious. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! Take care of yourself and try to relax Smile
