Pregnant and Trying to Sell/But a house

It has been a roller coaster ride being a second time buyer. We sold our flat in April, buyer pulled out in June. We lost the house that we really wanted and now the flat is still on the market.

We are trapped in the system where we have to deep clean the house for every viewing at the same time preparing for the baby on the way, while making our 4 year old understand why we need to tidy up his toys every now and then (he gets so upset whenever we have to put his toy cars away).

This has been a very difficult situation as we just want to move on with our lives. I've got 21 weeks to go but still hoping that everything will take place before the baby arrives.

Any other mums who went through the process of selling and buying the house while heavily pregnant?

This is why we’ve taken ours off the market until baby arrives in March.. the market is just dead (cheers Brexit). This is our second & with hindsight of having our first, I personally would have seriously struggled with the stresses and strains of house moving while heavily pregnant or with a newborn! Home was my sanctuary in later pregnancy & the newborn days!

That said, I had a couple friends who did move a couple weeks before their due dates and seemed to cope perfectly fine! For me, I think it would depend what kind of house you were looking for. A house that’s maybe just needs a lick of paint, totally fine. A project with building work, old tatty bathrooms/kitchen, I couldn’t manage!

Good luck OP, I hope you can sell & move quickly!

Yes!! We put our house on the market when I was 35+ weeks. We sold literally days after having my daughter and moved finally when she was 16 ish weeks. And we had a 2 year old and Christmas was in the middle of it all.
Fun and games!!

We went through this. Finally moved when our daughter was 3 months old. We had to keep all the baby stuff stored away right until the very last minute so the house wasn't too 'cluttered'. I was actually in labour when we viewed the house we ended up buying. Moving house is really stressful at the best of times so I really feel for you

Not successful but going through the same so totally understand how you're feeling!
House up for sale but as PP have said, market is just dead! We had an offer which we accepted and offered on a dream family home but then buyer lost their job so we lost the sale and whole thing fell through!
Hope you get some luck soon!

I moved into my new house about 2 weeks ago and I'm 36 weeks pregnant now.

My only piece of advice is just focus on one thing at a time! For example, I didn't buy any of the baby stuff until I had started maternity leave and we had moved in - then the house move and work were out of the picture.

No point trying to do everything at once!
